Gujarati Fresh Masala / How to Make Gujarati Fresh Masala

I am making a bunch of these very often, because this masala is not only very flavourful, it is very versatile and used in anything. I am cooking a lot of gujarati foods recently from this book. This masala is a basic for those cooking, i make a batch of these and store it in freezer. 

It stays fresh and flavourful for few months.I made gujarati chicken curry few days back, will post that today so stay tuned for that.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Grinding Time:  1 to 2 mins

Ginger - 1 cup peeled and cut into pieces
Garlic - 1/2 cup peeled
Green Chilli - 1/2 cup
Turmeric powder - 1 tblspn
Oil - 6 tblspn
Lemon Juice - 6 tblspn


Take a blender and add in ginger, garlic, green chilli, turmeric, oil and lemon juice in.

Blend it to a smooth puree.

Store in a air tight container in freezer.


1)Store this masala in a air tight container. 
2)If kept in fridge, this can be stored for 4 to 5 days. If kept in freezer, this can be stored for upto 3 to 4 months.
3)You can even freeze these in a icecube trays

Take all your ingredients
add it to the blender
grind into a smooth puree
Like this
all ground
store in a air tight container in freezer.
