Past two days have been so hectic for me, my internet just got too slow that i couldn't even open my mail or blog. So i have been asking hubby to fix it, After so many calls to customer service finally today i got it fixed and i am happy that i can get into my blog again. Today i am sharing a simple chicken curry which we make quite often at home, hubby love potatoes in his chicken curry and this one is his fav..

This curry taste best with Malabar paratha, Idli, Dosa, Chapati, Rumali Roti or Phulkas.

Now talking curry, it is quite basic one..A simple curry made with onion, tomatoes and spices and the curry is thickened with coconut. You can leave out the coconut if you want, because the aloo will make the curry thick on its own. I hope you will love this as much as we do and let me know if you try it someday..

  1. This is what I call a mouthwatering chicken. Lovely preparation.

  2. Hi, Would love to try this recipe. Have some questions. What is the size of the pressure cooker used in this recipe? How many whistles do you keep it for? When I cook potato with chicken in a pressure cooker it always gets overcooked and mashed up and changes the taste of the curry. How did your potato retain its shape? Thanks.

  3. @AnonymousI have used a 7 liter pressure cooker. And you have to cut the potatoes into big cubes. And i have mentioned the whistle and cooking time in the written part of the recipe

  4. Hi Aarthi
Can I use coconut milk instead of exclude it altogether? And I don't own a pressure cooker :( so in a normal pot how long should I simmer the curry? Thanks and your recipes are amazing!

  5. Hello Aarthi can I substitute coconut paste with coconut milk or even exclude it altogether?

  6. @JOANN DAVIDu can cook this chicken curry in a regular pot, just simmer it for 35 to 40 mins till chicken is cooked completely. Once it is completely cooked, add in coconut milk or coconut paste and simmer it for 5 to 8 mins.
