100% Whole Wheat English Muffins Recipe

English muffins is one of the recipe which i wanted to try for a very long time. One day i decided to make a hawaiian chicken burger, but i ran out of buns, that time i decided to make buns from scratch what i want is a different style of bun which is made without oven. Finally i came to know that english muffins can be made on a tawa and i made it, it turned out beautifully. Loved it to the core..

I made it using whole wheat flour so it is double healthy. Will share a traditional version very soon..

Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Rising Time : 1 hour
Cooking Time : 15 mins per batch
Makes : 6 to 8 muffins

Wheat Flour / Atta - 1.5 cup
Milk Powder - 1.5 tblspn
Dry Yeast - 1 tsp
Honey or Sugar - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Oil - 1 tblspn (I used olive oil)
Water as needed

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)

Take warm water, yeast and honey in a jug, mix well and set aside for 5 min so the yeast is all bubbly and activated.

Take flour, milk powder, salt, oil in a bowl and mix well.

Pour the yeast water  and knead it to a soft dough.

Roll the dough using a rolling pin into thick circle.

Cut into small rounds using a cutter..

Place each cut out dough in a plate and let it rise for 1 hour till it is doubled in size.

Place each of them in a dry pan and cook for 7 to 8 mins on one side, flip over and cook for 5 more mins.

Now remove them and serve warm

Take all your ingredients

Add yeast into warm water

Drizzle in some honey..Mix and set this aside for 5 mins

Take wheat flour in a bowl

Add in some milk powder

add in some salt

drizzle in some oil

mix well

Pour the yeast liquid

knead it to a soft dough

take the dough

Roll it into pretty thick circle

Actually i made it little thinner..You can roll it
little thicker than this

cut into circles

Place it in a plate which is dusted with some flour

cover and let it rise for a hour or so

slowly take them and place it in a dry nonstick pan and cook on low heat for 7 to 8 mins

flip over and cook for 5 more mins

Remove them
