Easy Mango Halwa Recipe

This is one recipe which i made it immediately as soon as i watched it in vahrehvah.com. This is such a easy recipe to make, and i know it will taste great because it has mangoes in them. I thought this would be a great recipe to share now as it is ramadan season..

Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
Makes : 9 big pieces

Mango Puree or Pulp - 1.5 cup
Cornflour / Cornstarch - 1/2 cup
Water - 1/2 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai Podi - 2 pods crushed
Nuts - 1/4 cup (cashews, badam, walnuts, pista)
Ghee - 5 tblspn


Grease a pan in which you are going to set the halwa well with ghee and set aside.

Now take cornflour in a bowl, add in water and mix well. 

Now heat 2 tblspn ghee in a kadai, add in mango pulp and cook this for 3 to 4 mins.

Now add in the cornflour mix and mix well. Add in sugar and keep mixing, it will thicken up.

Now start adding 1 tblspn of ghee and keep cooking, it will turn glossy and at one stage it will start to leave the sides of the pan. 

Add in cardamom powder and nuts. Mix well.

Pour this into the pan and set aside to cool down for couple of hours

Now cut it into squares and enjoy.

Store in fridge

Take all your ingredients
First grease a pan well with ghee and set aside

First take cornflour in a bowl

add water to it

mix well so no lumps are formed

Heat ghee in a pan

Add in mango pulp

mix that well

cook this for 3 mins

Add in the cornflour slurry

mix well

now it is all mixed up

add in sugar

mix well

Keep cooking, it will start to thicken

look how thick it has got

mix well

now start adding a tblspn of ghee at a time

mix well

add another tblspn

mix well..it will turn golssy

mix well

add in another tblspn of ghee

mix well

add in cardamom powder

fried nuts

mix well..look it has started to leave the sides

mix well

pour this into the pan and smoothen the top

set aside to cool for couple of hours

now it is cooled

invert it

cut it into squares
