    Palak Tofu Recipe

    Palak Tofu Recipe with step by step picture. This is made with Palak and Tofu. Simple curry goes well with pulao, roti or chapati.

    Palak Tofu

    This is another simple spinach gravy recipe and it is similar to palak paneer but i used tofu instead of paneer and made this gravy less rich and made it healthy. It is pretty simple to make as well. It is so healthy because it doesn't need any cream in this.  Check out My Homemade Tofu Recipe.

    Ingredients for Palak Tofu

    • Oil - 2 tsp
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - 1 tsp
    • Cinnamon / Pattai - 3 cm piece
    • Bay Leaf - 1
    • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
    • Green Chillies - 1 chopped
    • Chilli Powder - 2 tsp
    • Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - 1 tsp
    • Garam Masala Powder - 2 tsp
    • Tofu - 200 grams cubed
    • Water as needed
    • Milk or Cream- ½ cup
    • Cornflour - 1 tsp
    • Kasuri Methi Leaves - 1 tbsp
    For Cooking Spinach:
    • Spinach / Palak - 4 cups chopped finely
    • Garlic - 2 cloves
    • Green Chilli - 1  chopped
    • Water - ½ cup

    How to make Palak Tofu

    1. Take spinach in a bowl,add in garlic, green chillies,add in half cup of water and boil it for 5 to 7 mins. Now it is cooked, take the leaves along in a blender and puree till smooth. Set aside.
    2. Heat oil in a kadai. Add in cumin seeds, cinnamon and bay leaf  and let them sizzle.
    3. Add in onions, green chilliesand saute till golden.
    4. Add in ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
    5. Add in all spice powder and mix well.
    6. Now add in spinach puree and mix well. Simmer for 5 to 8 mins.
    7. Add in water and make a gravy.
    8. Add in tofu and mix well. Simmer for few mins.
    9. Add in milk mixed with cornflour and kasuri methi leaves and mix well. Simmer for few mins.
    10. Serve with roti.

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 teaspoon Oil
    • 1 teaspoon Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam
    • 3 cm Cinnamon / Pattai
    • 1 Bay Leaf
    • 1 Onion medium size chopped finely
    • 1 tablespoon Ginger Garlic Paste
    • 1 Green Chillies chopped
    • 2 teaspoon Chilli Powder
    • 1 teaspoon Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi
    • 2 teaspoon Garam Masala Powder
    • 200 grams Tofu cubed T
    • Water as needed
    • ½ cup Milk or Cream
    • 1 teaspoon Cornflour
    • 1 tablespoon Kasuri Methi Leaves
    • For Cooking Spinach:
    • 4 cups chopped finelySpinach / Palak
    • 2 cloves Garlic
    • 1 chopped Green Chilli
    • ½ cup Water

    Instructions

    Palak Tofu Recipe step by step picture 

    Take spinach in a sauce pan..add green chillies
    Add garlic to spinach
    cook for 5 to 6 mins
    take it in a blender
    puree it till smooth

     

     
    Take all your ingredients
    Heat oil in a pan, add in whole spices
    let them sizzle for a min
    add in onions and green chillies
    saute them well
    add in ginger garlic paste
    saute them for a min
    add in chilli powder, turmeric powder and garam masala powder
    mix that around
    add in pureed spinach
    mix that well and cook them for couple of mins
    add in water and bring it to a boil
    add in cubed tofu
    season with salt
    mix well and simmer for 5 more mins
    Add in kasuri methi leaves
    add in milk which is mixed with cornflour
    this will add creamyness and thickens the curry
    mix well
