Millets Kozhukattai Recipe - Siruthaniyam Kozhukattai Recipe


Millets kozhukattai is delicious and healthy breakfast idea for kids of adults. It is nutritious and good for dieting as well.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves: 4 to 6

Ingredients:

Varagu / Kodo Millet - 1 cup
Saamai / Little Millet - 1 cup
Salt to taste
Coconut - 1 cup grated
Oil - 1 tblspn
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Urad dal - 2 tblspn
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi - 1/2 tsp
Dry Red Chilli - 4 broken into small pieces
Curry leaves a handful

Method:

Take varagu and saamai in a bowl and wash well. Cover with water and let it soak for 8 to 10 hours. Drain and set aside.

Take it in a blender and puree coarsely.

Take it in a bowl, add coconut and salt and mix well.

Heat oil in a kadai, add mustard, urad dal, chillies and curry leaves. Let them sizzle. 

Add it into the millet mix. 

Make this into small balls.

Bring lots of water to a boil, drop kozhukattai in and simmer it and cook for 10 to 15 mins on low heat.

Drain and serve.

heat oil and crackle mustard, urad dal 
add asafoetida

add it into the bowl

mix well

make small ball



bring lots of water to a boil

drop it in

simmer and cook till done

done

drain it
