    Burmese Egg Bhejo

    These popular burmese dish is made with eggs. Burmese egg bhejo taste so good when served as an appetizer. Traditionally egg bhejo is served with atho or khow suey.

    Atho is a spicy tangy noodles dish made by tossing noodles with all the ingredients. I will share atho recipe soon on my blog. Egg bhejo has lots of ingredients stuffed inside boiled eggs.

    • Fried onion
    • Fried garlic
    • Roasted peanuts, gram dal powder
    • Roasted red chilli pepper powder
    • Tamarind juice
    • Lemon juice
    • Salt water
    • Coriander leaves

    HOW TO MAKE EGG BHEJO

    • Heat oil in a pan, add in onions and fry till golden. Drain and set aside.
    • Now add in garlic and fry till crispy. Drain and set aside.
    • Reserve the fried onions and garlic oil.
    • Dry roast dry red chillies for few minutes. Cool them down and crush them coarsely.
    • Dry roast peanuts and gram dal and crush them coarsely. Set aside.
    • Now take the egg, slit it open lightly.
    • Fill with fried onions, garlic, tamarind juice, lemon juice, salt water and the fried garlic oil.
    • Add in red chilli powder, roasted gram dal and peanut powder.
    • Add in coriander leaves and serve.

    TIPS & TRICKS

    1. Use hard boiled large sized eggs in this recipe.
    2. Don't cut the eggs completely, just slit them and use.
    3. Fill them with all the ingredients just before serving.
    4. This egg bhejo can be served as appetizers for any parties.

    • 5 Large Hard Boiled Eggs
    • 2 Medium Onions sliced
    • 10 pods Garlic chopped
    • 2 tbsp Peanuts
    • 2 tbsp Roasted Gram Dal

    • 2 tbsp Tamarind Juice
    • 1 tbsp Lemon juice
    • Salt water
