    Chana Dal Sundal

    Chana dal sundal is one of the most easy and delicious sundal to make. Amma makes this often than other sundal. It is simple and easy to make as well.

    Ingredients for Chana Dal sundal

    • Chana Dal / Kadalai Paruppu - 1 cup
    • Salt to taste
    • Fresh Coconut - ½ cup grated
      For Seasoning:
    • Oil - 1 tsp
    • Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
    • Urad dal - 1 tsp
    • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
    • Curry leaves a sprig
    • Ginger - 1 tsp chopped finely
    • Green Chilli - 1 finely chopped
    • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp

    How to make chana dal sundal

    1. Wash and soak chana dal for 4 hours. Drain and take them in a sauce pan, cover with water and cook for 5 mins till it is cooked completely. Drain and set aside.
    2. Now heat oil in a pan, add mustard, urad dal and let them sizzle. Add in asafoetida and mix well.
    3. In goes in ginger, green chilli and curry leaves and let them sizzle.
    4. Add in turmeric powder and mix well.
    5. Add chana dal, salt and coconut and toss well.
    6. Serve.
