    Chilli Tofu Recipe

    Chilli Tofu Recipe with step by step pictures. This is a Indo-Chinese recipe with spicy, sweet, and sour flavors. It can be served with white rice, brown rice, quinoa or even veg fried rice.

    Chilli Tofu

    Tofu Chilli is similar to my chilli paneer. I love it so much, i make it quite often using cauliflower, chicken or paneer.

    Ingredients for Chilli Tofu

    • Oil - 3 tbsp
    • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tbsp
    • Onions - 1 medium size sliced thinly
    • Capsicum - ½ sliced thinly
    • Green Chillies - 2 slit
    • Tomato Ketchup - 4 tbsp
    • Soya Sauce - 1 tbsp
    • Green Chilli Sauce - 2 tbsp
    • Red Chilli Sauce - 2 tbsp
    • Chilli Powder - 1 tbsp
    • Vinegar - 2 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Spring Onion a handful chopped

    For Coating:

    • Tofu - 200 grams cubed
    • All purpose flour / Maida - 2 tbsp
    • Cornflour - 2 tbsp
    • Chilli Powder - ½ tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Water as needed

    This is a quick dish to make and it is tossed with a little spicy sauce, so good.

    How to Make Chilli Tofu

    1. Mix all coating ingredients for tofu and mix well. Dip tofu in this and fry till golden. Drain this.
    2. In the remaining oil, add ginger garlic paste and saute for a min.
    3. Add in onions, chillies and capsicum, salt, sugar and mix well. cook for couple of mins.
    4. Add in sauces and chilli powder and mix well.
    5. Now add in fried tofu and toss well.
    6. Add in vinegar and mix well.
    7. Add spring onion and mix well.
    8. Serve.

    Ingredients
      

    • 3 tablespoon Oil

    • 2 slit Green Chillies
    • 4 tablespoon Tomato Ketchup
    • 1 tablespoon Soya Sauce
    • 2 tablespoon Green Chilli Sauce
    • 2 tablespoon Red Chilli Sauce
    • 1 tablespoon Chilli Powder
    • 2 teaspoon Vinegar
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar
    • Spring Onion a handful chopped

    Chilli Tofu Recipe Step by Step

    Take all your ingredients. Check out My Homemade Tofu Recipe.
    Take all purpose flour and corn flour in a bowl
    add in salt and chilli powder
    add in water
    make it into a smooth paste
    Add in tofu
    mix well
    heat oil in a pan
    add in tofu
    fry till golden
    now it is crispy
    drain it
    heat oil in a pan
    add in ginger garlic paste
    add in onions, capsicum and chillies

    saute for couple of mins
    add salt and sugar
    mix well
    add ketchup
    soy sauce
    green chilli sauce
    red chilli sauce
    mix well
    add some chilli powder
    mix well
    add tofu
    toss well
    add in vinegar
    add in little cornflour slurry from the bowl
    toss well
    Serve
