This recipe calls for only khoya, sugar and nuts. I added some saffron to make it aromatic and tasty. The addition of fried nuts gives a little crunchy taste to it.
Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..
Khoya / Mawa – 1 cup grated
Sugar – 3 tblspn
Ghee – 1 tsp
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai podi – 1/2 tsp
Nuts – 3 tblspn ( I used pista, badam, cashews)
Saffron a pinch
Milk – 1 tblspn
Method:
Line a plate with foil and grease it well with ghee. Set aside.
Heat ghee in a pan, add in nuts and fry till golden. Remove this and set aside.
Soak saffron with some milk for 5 mins and set aside.
Now add in the grated khoya and fry this for few sec.
Add in sugar and mix well. Keep cooking this till it starts to leave the sides of the pan.
Now add in cardamom powder, saffron milk, nuts and give a good mix.
Now pour this in a greased pan and smoothen it, sprinkle the top with some nuts.
Let it set for a hour.
Cut into squares and enjoy.
You can store this in fridge for 4 to 7 days.
