Yesterday was my perimma’s birthday..She came to my house along with perippa. I would love to share some sweet words about them..First off all I am so lucky to have all of them as my relatives..They are so caring and will do anything for us..They are the best couple too…Along with them I have another perippa and perimma too. I will take pictures of them and post soon. I am so attached to both of my perimma’s that anyone else. They are the person who care for us in real. I should definitely make some thing special for them right..I made them this crispy dosa and served it along with curry leaves chutney and sambar..How good is that..They totally enjoyed the meal. I was really happy about this.

Now coming to the recipe..It is a special dosa served in a famous hotel gowri shankar here..I make potato masala dosa often but gobi masala dosa is really new to me..But once I tried it, I came to a decision that I should make it often..It was that yummy…The masala which I made is so rich and creamy because of the cashews which we add there..You could serve that masala with roti or poori too..
I hope you will try it out and let me know what you think..I am sending this recipe to Blogging Marathan Day 5 under the theme Seven Days of Dosa Recipes.

Ingrediants:

Dosa Batter  ( Click here for recipe)
Oil for pan frying
For Califlower Masala:
Cauliflower – 1 cut into bite size florets
Onion – 1 chopped finely
Tomatoes – 3
Ginger Garlic Paste – 1 tblpsn
Fennel Seeds / Sombu / Saunf – 1 tsp
Chilli powder – 1 tsp
Coriander powder / Malli podi – 1 tsp
Turmeric powder / Manjal podi – 1 tsp( for cooking cauliflower)
Tandoori Masala Powder – 1 tsp
Cashew – 10
Salt to taste
Oil – 2 tblspn
Coriander leaves for garnishing
Method:
Grind the cashews to a smooth paste and set aside.
Boil water with some salt and turmeric powder. Cook cauliflower in that till they turn tender. Drain and set aside.
Heat oil in a kadai. Add fennel seeds and saute for a min.Add in onions, coriander leaves , salt and cook for 5 mins. Add ginger garlic paste and mix well.
Add in all the spice powders and fry for 30 sec. Now add in tomato and mix well.Cook this till oil separates.
Now add in the ground cashew paste  and mix well..Cook this again for 5 mins..Add around 1 cup of water.
Now add in cooked cauliflower. Cover and simmer till the gravy gets thick like a masala but not so dry.
Now lets make the dosa. Heat a tawa and add a ladleful of batter in it and spread it thinly. Drizzle some oil around the sides and using a flat spoon spread it over he dosa so the top layer forms a very smooth layer. Wait till the bottom to crisp up. When it started to turn golden spoon some masala in the center and fold in half.
Transfer to a plate and serve hot.

I have tried this version before and loved it to bits. Shame that I don;t make it anymore. Usually I end up with just a dosa and a chutney/podi.

Lovely dosa and enjoying all your entries for BM 🙂
