    Homemade Corn Tortilla made easily at home using makki ka atta. Soft corn tortilla recipe made easily at home mexican style. Corn tortillas can be used to make tacos, corn tortilla chips.

    Corn Tortilla Recipe

    I have made tortilla before they are a bit different from out roti or chapati. They are either made with hot water or warm water. The bread is more chewy and elastic. I wanted to make this corn tortilla for a long time. Finally i made it few days back and used it to make corn chips and nachos.

    How to Make Soft Corn Tortilla at Home

    You will need makki ka atta, all purpose flour, salt and warm water. 
    • Take both flour in a bowl, add salt and mix well.
    • Add in warm water and knead to a soft dough.
    • Now take small portion of dough and roll it in a board till it is thin.
    • Heat a pan, place the roti on the pan and cook on both sides till done.
    • Store in an air tight container in fridge for 2 to 3 days.
    • Warm it in oven or a pan lightly before serving.

    How to Make Corn Tortilla Chips

    Baking corn tortillas create crispy chips just like fried ones. Also it is healthier. This is how you make the tortilla chips. You can make tortilla chips in any flavour as you like.

    4 to 5 Corn Tortilla, salt and oil for deep frying

    • Cut tortilla into wedges. 
    • Heat oil for deep frying, drop tortilla in hot oil and fry till golden. 
    • Drain them and salt them lightly.
    • Serve with salsa.

    Pro Tips

    • Yellow corn flour and maida is mixed to create a dough. This make it easy to roll the tortilla.
    • You can make a big batch of this tortilla and store it in fridge for 3 to 4 days.
    • You can freeze them for 2 to 3 weeks.
    • Warm them in oven or a pan lightly before serving.

    • 1 cup Makki Ki Atta / Yellow Corn Flour
    • ½ cup All Purpose Flour / Maida
    • Salt to taste
    • Warm Water as needed

    Corn Tortilla Recipe with Step by Step Pictures

    1)Take corn flour | makki atta in a bowl

     
    2)Add in all purpose flour | maida
     
    3)Add salt
     
    4)Mix well
     
    5)Add warm water
     
    6)Make a dough
     
    7)Make a dough soft.
     
    8)Divide the dough into equal balls.
     
    9)Take a dough and dust it with flour
     
    10)Roll it gently
     
    11)Place on hot pan
     
    12)Flip over and cook
