Kambu Maavu Puttu Recipe – Pearl Millet Puttu Recipe

This is a healthy breakfast you can make with pearl millet or kambu. It is not only easy to make, but taste really yummy too.

Rice Puttu
Corn Meal Puttu

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves: 1 or 2


Ingredients:

Kambu Maavu / Pearl Millet Flour –  1 cup
Salt to taste
Sugar – 1 tsp
Ghee – 1 tsp
Water as needed
Fresh Coconut Grated as needed

Method:

Take pearl millet flour in a pan, dry roast till nice aroma comes from it.

Take it in a bowl, add salt, sugar and ghee. Mix well.

Add in water and rub well so it looks like coarse breadcrumbs.

Take your puttu maker, spoon some coconut in it, top with the flour mixture, more coconut and more flour.

Now steam this for 10 mins.

Serve.

Take your kambu mavu

 

Take it in a pan

 

dry roast it till nice aroma comes from it

 

take it in a bowl

 

add in salt and sugar

 

add some ghee

 

mix well

 

add water slowly

 

now mix really well

 

the texture should be like a little wet sand

 

when you take some and hold between your hand it should hold its shape

 

then when you crumble, it should fall apart

 

now take your puttu maker

 

spoon some grated coconut

 

spoon it some of the flour mix

 

now top with coconut

 

top with more flour

 

finally top with coconut

 

cover with a lid

 

steam for 10 mins

 

now unmould

 

Serve with banana and sugar
