Masala Mathri Recipe
Mathri is a deep fried snack which is made so many ways. This one has a masala inside it and it is yummy.
This version of mathri is a stuffed one and it is masala filled one. I loved it with a cup of tea. It is just delicious.
Ingredients for Masala Mathri
- Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu / Besan - 1 cup
- Sooji / Rava - 1 tblspn
- Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
- Salt to taste
- Ajwain / Omam / Carom Seeds - ¼ tsp
- Oil - 2 tblspn
- Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi a pinch
- Water as needed

How to Make Masala Mathri
- Take all purpose flour, salt, oil or ghee in a bowl and rub well so it is well mixed in. Add water slowly and make a stiff dough.
- Now take all filling ingredients in a bowl and mix well. Add water slowly and make a dough.
- Now divide each dough into equal size small balls.
- Take maida ball and flatten it, place filling ball in and cover from all sides. Now flatten it and roll it thin. Use a fork to prick it all over it.
- Heat oil for deep frying, drop mathri in and fry till golden brown.
- Drain and cool it down.
- Serve.
