Mixture Recipe – South Indian Mixture Recipe

This is a popular recipe which we often make for diwali. But see i have missed to share it in my blog. Along with this recipe, i have missed so many important recipes as well. Finally i made a list of those recipes few weeks back and managed to make few of those.

This recipe can be customized as per your taste and liking. You could add anything like fried poha, raisans, chips to this as well. Will share many variations in the future post.

Cooking Time : 30 mins
Serves: 10


Ingredients:

Kara Boondhi – 3 cups (recipe here)
Omapodi – 2 cups (recipe here)
Oil – 3 tblspn
Garlic – 6 cloves peeled
Peanuts – 2 tblspn
Cashews – 10
Roasted Gram Dal / Pori Kadalai – 3 tblspn
Chilli Powder – 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp
Salt to taste
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi a pinch
Curry leaves a handful

Method:

Take kara boondhi and omapodi in a bowl and toss well.

Heat oil in a pan, add garlic and fry till golden, drain and add to the mix.

In the same pan, add peanuts, cashews and gram dal and fry till golden. Add chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and asafoetida. Mix well. Add this to the mix. Toss well.

Now add curry leaves in the pan and fry till crispy. Add it to the mix and toss well.

Serve.

now take your other ingredients
heat oil in a pan
add garlic
fry till golden brown
add to the mixture
add cashews, peanuts and roasted gram dal
fry till golden brown
add some turmeric, chilli powder and salt
add some asafoetida as well
toss well
add this in the mixture
add curry leaves
fry till crispy
add it to the mixture
toss well
Serve
