Kids requested if I can cook them pasta. Suddenly I decided to make the simplest pasta without white sauce minimum ingredients and less prep time. Hence this cheese pasta is born.

    About Cheese Pasta Recipe

Cheese pasta is one of the most popular pasta recipe among kids. It is creamy, mild and so cheesy. This pasta can be made in various method. Some recipe uses flour as thickening agent. But I created this recipe to make it super simple and quick.

This is a one pot cheesy pasta dish in which you cook all the ingredients together in a single pan. You don't need to cook the pasta separately. But the end product is just amazing.

Even though I always choose to use real cheese like cheddar, mozzarella. But in this recipe, I prefer to use processed cheese. You can use cheese slice or cheese cube which create a velvety cheesy texture and not stringy texture.

Since this pasta is one pot recipe, it is best to serve it immediately as soon as it is made. If you want to pack in lunch box, I recommend adding more milk to make it more saucy.

For healthy add ons, you can mix some boiled corn, green peas, sauted mushrooms, blanched vegetables or even cooked chicken cubes.

    Ingredients

    • Butter - Butter enhance the taste of the pasta and makes it rich.
    • Garlic - I like to add some chopped garlic which adds so much flavour. Instead of fresh garlic, you can use garlic powder.
    • Pasta - I prefer using small pasta variety like macaroni or small penne. It cooks faster and integrates into the sauce.
    • Liquid - You need milk and water for cooking this pasta dish.
    • Seasonings - you need Italian seasoning, red chilli flakes, salt and sugar.
    • Cheese - I prefer to use processed cheese. You can use cheese slice or cheese cube which create a velvety cheesy texture and not stringy texture.

    Step by Step Pictures

1)Heat butter in a deep pot. Add in garlic and saute for few seconds until garlic gets fragrant.

2)Pour in 1 cup of water directly over the butter and garlic mixture. For 1 cup of macaroni you need 1 cup of water.

3)Pour in 1 cup of milk. I used whole full fat milk.

4)Add in salt, sugar, Italian seasoning, red chilli flakes into the milk mixture. Mix well and bring this to a full boil.

5)Add in the pasta. I am using small macaroni which cooks faster.

6)Stir occasionally so the pasta doesn't sit at the bottom of the pan. Cook until pasta is done. it will take around 5 to 6 minutes.

7)You can see most of the liquid is evaporated and the pasta is cooked.

8)Add in cheese slice or processed cheese cube.

9)Mix until the cheese melts completely.

    10)Serve immediately.
