Sweet Mathri Recipe – Meethi Mathari Recipe – Sweet Crackers Recipe

Mathri is a deep fried snack which is made so many ways. This one is a sweet version, i have share methi mathri and masala mathri before.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 1 min per batch
Makes: 20 mathri


Ingredients:

Jaggery – 1/2 cup
Water – 1/4 cup
Wheat flour – 1 1/4 cup
Fennel Seed Powder – 1 tsp
Ghee – 2 tblspn
Oil for deep frying

Method:

Take jaggery and water in a sauce pan, heat till it is melted. Set aside to cool.

Take wheat flour in a bowl, add fennel seed powder, ghee and mix well.

Now strain in the jaggery syrup and mix well. Add more water if needed.

Make it into a dough.

Now roll it little thick, cut using a cutter or bowl into rounds, prick all over with fork.

Now fry them in oil till crispy.

Drain and serve.

knead well
knead to a stiff dough
roll it little thick
use a round cutter or bowl to cut it
prick with fork
time to fry
fry in medium heat till crispy
serve
