Tofu Paratha Recipe – Stuffed Tofu Paratha Recipe

This is one paratha which i loved a lot. It has a yummy tofu filling in it, perfect healthy paratha. You can make this, cut into little triangles and give it to your kids, they will love it for sure..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Resting Time : 30 mins
Cooking Time : 1 to 2 min per paratha
Makes : 4 paratha

Ingredients:


For Dough:
Wheat Flour / Atta – 1 cup + extra if needed
Salt – 1/2 tsp
Oil – 1 tblspn + for making paratha
Water as needed

For Stuffing:
Tofu / Soya Paneer  – 1 cup crumbled
Carrot – 1/2 grated finely
Green Chilli – 1 chopped finely
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam -1 tsp
Chilli Powder – 1/2 tsp
Cumin Powder -1 tsp
Chat Masala Powder -1.5 tsp
Salt to taste
Coriander leaves / Cilantro for garnishing

Method:

Start by making dough, take flour, salt, oil in a bowl. rub well so oil is mixed in with the flour.

Add in water slowly and knead to a soft smooth dough. Cover the dough with a bowl and set aside for 30 mins.

Now make the filling…Take all ingredients in a bowl and mix well.

Now divide the dough into equal portions and start making parathas..

Take the dough and divide into equal balls. Take two balls and roll it out lightly.

Place one rolled paratha near you, spread some filling over it, cover with other paratha, seal the edges, use a rolling pin to roll the paratha even more.

Heat a tawa, put the paratha on hot tawa, cook for few sec, flip over, spread some oil over it, spread again, spread some more oil over it and cook on both sides till golden.

Remove and serve hot.

Remove to a insulated container and serve with any side dish of your choice..

First lets make the dough..Take wheat flour in a bowl
add in some salt
drizzle in some oil
use your hands to rub it well
this makes sure that the oil is mixed in with the flour nicely
pour in water and start kneading
add more water as needed
you should be keep on kneading the dough till you get a soft smooth dough like this
cover the dough and let it rest for 30 mins..
Now make the filling
take your block of tofu
crumble it like this
take it in a bowl
add grated carrots
add in green chillies and coriander leaves
add cumin seeds
add salt, chilli powder and cumin powder
add chat masala powder
mix well.. filling done
Now take your dough
Divide it into equal balls
take two of you dough balls
roll it out..my lil one want to keep on touching it!
now take one paratha
spoon some filling
spread it
place another paratha on top
seal them
roll it lightly..Dont look at the missing polish on my nail
now put this in hot tawa
flip over
drizzle little oil
flip over and apply oil
flip again and cook both sides really well

    Looks good !! One doubt what happens if we cool the paneer and the make the paratha ? Will it come out if we cook only the paneer filing
