The Pioneer Woman's Cinnamon Rolls Recipe

Ok i think you got it..This recipe is adapted from the famous pioneer woman's blog. And it was a huge hit in my place. You got to try it out to believe my words.

And i thought to give a experiment and substituted regular all purpose flour to whole wheat flour. The result was not that success. The rolls turned out little dense. But the taste was good. I strongly recommend you to give it a try with regular flour, so you will get softer and yummier rolls. Try it out and let me know how they turn out.

Preparation Time : 20 mins
Resting Time : 2 to 3 hours
Baking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Serves - 6 to 8
Recipe Source : The Pioneer Woman

Ingredients:

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 cup + Extra if needed
Sugar - 4 tblspn
Egg - 1
Yeast - 1 tsp
Warm Milk - 3/4 cup + Extra if needed
Butter - 3 tblspn melted

For Spreading on Rolls:
Butter - 3 tblspn (soft at room temp)
Cinnamon - 2 tblspn
Sugar - 1/4 cup

For Icing:
Icing Sugar / Confectioners Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 2 to 3 tblspn

Method:

Take egg, milk, sugar in a bowl and mix well. Now add in  melted butter, yeast and mix well. Let this sit for 5 mins.

Now add in flour and form into a dough. Cover this and let it sit for an hour or till it is double in size.

Now Make the cinnamon sugar. Mix sugar and cinnamon till it is mixed.Set it aside till use.

Once the dough is risen. Roll it out into a long rectangle. Spread some soft butter over it. Sprinkle it with cinnamon sugar. Roll it into a thick log. Cut both the ends. Now cut them into equal slices.

Arrange it in a buttered tray. Cover again and let it rise for a hour.

Preheat the oven to 180 Degree C / 360 Degree F.

Once it is risen, bake it in a preheated oven for 40 to 45 mins.

Remove from oven and make the icing.

Take icing sugar and milk in a bowl and mix well so it forms into a smooth icing.

Drizzle this all over the rolls.

Serve.
