Nungu Payasam Recipe - Palm Fruit Kheer Recipe


This has become one of my favourite desert. Not only it is easy to make, but it taste really really delicious and cools out body instantly. I can almost feel that my body gets cool when i drink this.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves : 4 to 6

Ingredients:

Milk - 1 liter
Sugar - 3/4 cup or to taste
Nungu / Palm Fruit - around 3 cups
Condensed Milk - 3 tblspn (optional)
Cardamom Powder / Yelakai Podi - 1/2 tsp
Chironji / Charoli - 1 tblspn

Method:

Take half of the nungu in a blender and puree. Chop the other half into small pieces.

Take milk and sugar in a sauce pan and cook till it is reduced a little and thickened.

Add in condensed milk and mix well.

Chill this fridge till cold.

Now add in pureed palm fruit and chopped ones along with cardamom powder and chironji.

Mix well and serve cold.

now lets make the milk mix..take milk in a sauce pan


add sugar to it


i transfered it to a bigger pan..you have
 to reduce the milk a little


now it has reduced a little


pour that in a jug or a bowl

add little condensed milk, it enhances the taste..
You can skip it


mix well and chill this in fridge till cold


now it is cold


add the pureed palm fruit


mix well


add in the chopped palm fruit




add in some chironji / charoli seed, you can add 
any nuts as you like


add little cardamom powder


mix well


serve cold
