Chorafali Recipe - Gujarati Choraphali Recipe - Cholafali Recipe

This is a very new snack for me. When i was hunting for diwali recipes, i came across this one and it immediately caught my eyes. I made it at once and it was a hit.

This one is pretty easy to make, but it taste really delicious. It is all fluffy and crispy. A different experience when you taste it.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time: 1 to 2 min per batch

Besan Flour / Gram Flour / Kadalai Mavu - 1 1/4 cup
Urad Dal powder / Ulundu Mavu - 1/3 cup
Salt to taste
Baking Soda - 1/8 tsp
Oil - 2 tblspn for deep frying
Warm water as needed
Wheat flour for rolling

For Spice Powder:
Chilli Powder -  1 tsp
Black Salt - 1 tsp
Amchoor Powder / Dry Mango Powder - 1 tsp


Take gram flour, urad dal mavu, salt, baking soda and mix well. 

Take water and heat it till warm, add in oil and pour this over the flour and knead well till it gets smooth. Set aside for 10 mins.

Take dough in a board, sprinkle with wheat flour and roll it thin.

Cut it into strips.

Heat oil for deep frying and drop in hot oil. It will puff up.

Fry till crispy and remove it. Sprinkle with spice powder mix and serve.

Take all your ingredients

Heat water in a sauce pan

add oil

warm it little

take gram flour in a bowl

add urad dal flour

add baking soda

add salt

mix well

add warm water

knead to a soft dough

sprinkle with wheat flour

roll it pretty thin

cut like this

now like this

drop in hot oil

it will puff up

look at those

take your spice mix

mix well

sprinkle over the snack
