Chocolate Truffle Cake Recipe

Four layer chocolate truffle cake which is super easy to make and taste absolutely delicious. This is a rich cake which has mousse frosting and a rich chocolate ganache.

Ingredients

FOR CAKE:

  • All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 1/4 cup 150 grams
  • Sugar - 1 cup 200 grams
  • Cocoa - 1/2 cup 50 grams
  • Milk - 3/4 cup 180 ml
  • Oil - 1/2 cup 120 ml
  • Vanilla - 1 tsp
  • Baking soda - 1 tsp
  • Baking Powder - 1 tsp
  • Salt a pinch
  • Hot Water - 3/4 cup 180 ml
  • Egg - 2

FOR FROSTNG:

  • Whipping Cream - 2 cups
  • Dark Chocolate - 2 cup chopped
  • Cream - 1/4 cup

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Line 2 rectangle pan with parchment paper and set aside.
  • Take dry ingredients in a bowl and mix well.
  • Add in wet ingredients and fold gently.
  • Divide this between two pan and bake for 15 to 16 mins.
  • Now remove this from oven and cool completely.
  • Take cream and chocolate in a bowl and melt it gently in microwave or stove top.
  • Now remove 1/2 cup of melted chocolate and set aside.
  • Now whip 2 cups of cream till stiff. Add melted chocolate and mix well.
  • Now take the cake and cut it in half.
  • Now take one cake, spread with frosting. Top with other cake. Now spread frosting. Repeat this till 4th layer. Now pour chocolate over and spread.
  • Chill the cake for few hours.
  • Slice and serve.

14)Divide batter between two pans

15)Bake till done

16)Whip some cream till thick and fluffy

17)Add in melted dark chocolate

18)Whip till mixed

19)Cut cake in half

20)Place a cake in the board

21)Spread with frosting

22)Repeat this

23)Spread with ganache

24)Chill for few hours

25)Slice and serve.

    Hi Aarthi…Wonderful recipe…u mentioned cream 1/4 cup for frosting but u didnt mention it anywhere…do we need cream? Pls answer

      You need to add it with the chooclate and melt it.

    Nice recipe…gonna try this for my daughter’s birthday…Need one clarification…you mentioned cream 1/4 cup for frosting but you didnt use it…

    I have one question, whipped cream and chocolate has to be melted together or only chocolate should be melted and poured in whipped cream?

      Chocolate should be melted separately and then added to the whipped cream. Its mentioned in the recipe.
