    Crispy and spicy chicken strips made by marinating chicken in buttermilk and spice mix. Coated in plain flour and cornstarch to create crispy and juicy texture.

    Crispy Chicken Stripsor Chicken Tenders Recipe with step wise pictures. This is a delicious crunchy chicken strips which has a coating of cornflakes in it. It is super crunchy and stays crunchy for a long time.

    Chicken strips is my all time favourite. I used to order it often. It is so easy to make at home as well. The recipe is same as my potato wedges recipe, the coating it crispy and little spicy.

    About Chicken Strips 

    Chicken strips also known as chicken tenders or chicken fingers is an easy appetizer which you can make using chicken. The recipe is very easy, all the flavours come from the spice mix which we make. You can add all the seasonings and spices in a blender and pulse few times so it combines. Divide them between the wet and dry coatings. This coating makes the chicken strips super tender, flavourful and juicy. 

    I made this yesterday and it has become my favourite. It was so easy to make, but the taste is just fantastic. It is so healthy because you are baking them and the chicken was so juicy. I served it with gherkin mayonnaise, I am recently addicted to this gherkin they are so delicious, cannot stop eating them all by themselves.

    When i was looking for a dipping sauce to serve this with, i thought of making a gherkin mayo with red chilli sauce and some sugar to balance all the tartness. It turned out yummy.

    Step by Step Pictures

    1)Take all the seasoning spice mix ingredients in a blender and pulse it few times. I used a combination of parsley, oregano, basil, rosemary, salt, sugar, onion powder, garlic powder, black pepper powder. Once it is coarsely crushed, Set aside.

    2)Instead of crushing them in a blender, you can combine them in a bowl.

    3)Take your boneless chicken breast.

    4)Cut chicken breast into strips.

    5)Take buttermilk in a bowl and add half of the seasoning spice mix into buttermilk and mix well. 

    6)taste this and adjust salt and seasoning.

    7)Add chicken breast into the buttermilk and mix well. Allow this to marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour. 

    8)Take plain flour, baking powder and cornstarch in a bowl. Add remaining half of the seasoning spice mix onto the flour and mix well.  

    9)This is your dry mix.

    10)Now take your marinated chicken breast, take the chicken and coat in the flour generously.

    11)Press and coat it well.

    12) Set aside in a wire rack so it dries a little.

    13)Heat oil for deep frying, drop chicken strips in hot oil and fry on medium high heat and 3 to 4 minutes.

    14)Use a slotted spoon and strain it on some paper towel. Serve.

    15)Chicken strips ready to serve.

    16)I served chicken strips with this gherkin mayo dipping sauce.

    17)take gherkins.

    18)Chop it very finely.

    19)Take mayo, red chilli sauce, sugar and chopped gherkin in a bowl.

    20)mix well. this is your dipping sauce. enjoy with chicken.

    Ingredients
      

    • 2 large Boneless chicken breast
    • 1 cup Buttermilk

    For Flour Mix

    • 1 cup All Purpose Flour
    • ½ cup Cornstarch
    • ½ teaspoon Baking powder
    • Sunflower Oil for deep frying

    For Seasoning Spice Mix

    • 2 teaspoon Dried Parsley
    • 2 teaspoon Dried Basil
    • 2 teaspoon Dried Rosemary
    • 1 tablespoon Dried Oregano
    • 1 tablespoon Red Chilli Flakes
    • 2 teaspoon Garlic Powder
    • 2 teaspoon Onion powder
    • 1 tablespoon Salt
    • 2 teaspoon Black Pepper powder
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar

    For Gherkin Mayo Dipping Sauce

    • ½ cup Mayonnaise
    • 3 tablespoon Red Chilli Sauce
    • 3 no Gherkin chopped finely
    • 1 teaspoon Sugar

    Instructions
     

    • Take all the seasoning spice mix ingredients in a blender and pulse it few times. Set aside.
    • Cut chicken breast into strips. Take buttermilk in a bowl and add half of the seasoning spice mix into buttermilk and mix well. Add chicken breast into the buttermilk and mix well. Allow this to marinate for 30 minutes to 1 hour.
    • Take plain flour, cornstarch, baking powder in a plate. Add remaining half of the seasoning spice mix onto the flour and mix well.
    • Now take your marinated chicken breast, take the chicken from marination and coat in the flour generously. Set aside in a wire rack so it dries a little.
    • Heat oil for deep frying, drop chicken strips in hot oil and fry on medium high heat and 3 to 4 minutes. Use a slotted spoon and strain it on some paper towel. Serve with gherkin dipping sauce.
    • for dipping sauce, mix all ingredients together and serve with chicken.
