    Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup Recipe with step by step pictures. This is made with Vegetables ,Vinegar, Soy Sauce and Tomato Ketchup.

     

    Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup

    Hot & Sour is the only soup which I order all time...We will go to a near by restaurant often and I will order this soup along with crispy fish fingers..Hmmm...This taste so awesome.I have already shared a chicken hot and sour soup . This is a veg version.

    It is so tasty, little spicy and just brings a heat in your stomach..I throughly enjoy my soups..I made this for lunch and had it before my biryani meal.

    Ingredients for Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup

    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Ginger - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
    • Garlic - 1 tablespoon finely chopped
    • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Green Chillies - 1 chopped finely
    • Cabbage - 1 cup finely chopped
    • Carrot - 1 large finely chopped
    • Capsicum - ½ chopped finely
    • Beans - 4 chopped finely
    • Coriander leaves a handful finely chopped
    • Tomato Ketchup - 2 tbsp
    • Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
    • Vinegar - 2 tsp
    • Green Chilli Sauce - 1 tbsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Pepper to taste
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Vegetable Stock - 5 cups
    • Cornflour / Cornstarch - 1 tbsp

    How to make Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup

    1. Heat oil in a pan, add in ginger, garlic, onions and chillies. Saute for 2 to 3 mins.
    2. Add in all the finely chopped veggies and saute for a good 5 mins.
    3. Now add in all the sauce and mix well.
    4. Add in stock, salt, sugar and pepper and mix well.
    5. Mix cornflour with some water and add that in. Mix well and cook till it thickens lightly.
    6. Add in coriander leaves and serve hot.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 tablespoon Oil
    • 1 tablespoon Ginger finely chopped

    • 1 tablespoon Cornstarch

    Hot and Sour Vegetable Soup Recipe step by step picture 

     
    I used these veggies..
    You can chop them finely all by yourselves..But i am gonna use a new gadget which i discovered

    This is it..i bought this in my supermarket and it is pretty cheap
    It is a manual chopper and it works like a charm..
    I added the roughly chopped veggies into the bowl
    covered it and pressed the top few times
    Look how finely it has diced
    I chopped a big bowl of veggies in less than 2 mins
    Now chop up other ingredients
    Take all your sauces
    Mix all your sauces..take ketchup in a bowl
    add in vinegar
    add in green chilli sauce
    little soy sauce
    Mix well
    I took some cornflour in a bowl
    added some water to it and mixed it well...Set this aside
    Heat little oil or butter in a pan
    add in garlic, ginger, onions and chillies
    saute for couple of mins
    add in veggies
    mix well
    Keep cooking for 5 mins
    pour in water or veg stock
    mix well
    Add in sauces
    Mix well
    Season with salt, sugar and pepper
    Add in cornflour slurry
    mix well
    Add more to reach the consistency you need
    add in coriander leaves
    Mix well
    Serve hot
