It really hurts when people close to our heart leaves us alone. Same feeling happened to me when I heard the news that one of my co-blogger jayasree from Experiments in Kailas kitchen passed away…Even though bloggers we have never met, but somehow we are united by heart..Which gives us lot of pain when something happens to the fellow bloggers..

I know her only a couple of months before since I discovered her blog…She is a wonderful blogger who has a lovely blog with lots of lovely recipes..
Its really a good thing that all blogger’s have come together and planned a tribute to her by making her recipes and posting it..I took this opportunity and tried one of her recipe..Jayasree made it as kulipaniyaram, but I made it as mini dosa’s which came out perfectly..So hope you like it and I pray that jayasree’s soul to rest in peace..
So here you go for the step by step recipe with pictures..
Yields – 15 mini dosa
Ingrediants:
Oats-1 Cup / 250 gms
Rice Flour / Arisi Mavu-2 tblspn
Curd-1/2 cup / 150 ml
Onion-1 finely chopped
Green Chilli-2 chopped Finely
Salt to taste
Baking Soda-1 tsp
Oil for Pan frying
For Seasoning:
Oil-1 tsp
Mustard seeds / Kaduku-1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundam Paruppu-1 tsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya podi- ¼ tsp
Curry leaves – 1 spring
Method:
In a mixing bowl add oats, rice flour, salt, onions, green chillies, baking soda, curd and mix well..
Pour in some water to make a thick batter..
Now make seasoning by heating oil and crackling mustard, urad dal, hing and curry leaves..Pour this over the batter and mix well..
Let this batter sit for 15 mins..
Now heat a non stick tawa with some oil …Pour a small ladleful of this batter in the tawa to form a mini pancake..
Cook for 1 min in one side, flip it over and cook for another min on other side too..
Now remove and set aside..Finish the entire batter…
Serve hot with any spicy chutney..
Pictorial:
Take all your ingrediants
Mix oats with rice flour
add in salt
onions
green chilli
baking soda
and mix well
pour in curd
and mix well
add more water
and make into a thick batter
it should be in thick consistency
Heat oil
crackle mustard and urad dal
add hing
and curry leaves
now pour this tempering over the batter
and mix well
let this sit for 15 mins
take a ladleful of batter
heat a tawa and drizzle some oil in it..
pour the batter in that and cook on one side
flip it over and cook on other side too
Remove and serve

What a lovely post about your friend. I know from experience too, if it weren't for this endearing blogging community, I couldn't have gotten through these last 18 months since losing my daughter to breast cancer.
Thank you for leading me to another friend. Susan XOXO

I tried it out for dinner yesterday and it came out well. Only variation to your recipe that I did was to fry the onion n green chilly slightly after the seasoning insted of adding them raw. Thanks for the recipe.

I tried it last nyt for dinner n was quite good. Only variation from the source recipe that I made was to slightly fry the onions and green chillies while doing the seasoning instead of adding them raw.

@Asha Mathewu can skip baking soda. it will make this thinner and crispier, instead of soft. And you can store it in fridge and use next day as well. But dont add baking soda.
