Paneer Jalfrezi is a dish made with frying marinated pieces of meat, fish or vegetables in oil and spices to produce a dry, thick sauce.

    Paneer Jalfrezi

Jalfrezi (also jhal frezi, zalfrezi, jaffrazi, and many alternative spellings) is a type of curry which involves frying marinated pieces of meat, fish or vegetables in oil and spices to produce a dry, thick sauce.

    What is Jalfrezi?

Jalfrezi is a sort of curry made by frying marinated meat, fish, or vegetables in oil and spices to create a thick, dry sauce. This English phrase comes from the colloquial Bengali word "hālpharezī" The word "jhāl" denotes hot cuisine in Bengali, and parhez means diet- friendly in Urdu/Persian. paneer jalfrezi is a curry dish originating in
Bengal and popular throughout the Indian subcontinent and beyond.

This is my first attempt in trying this yummy dish. I have come across this so many times but never got a chance to try it. Couple days back i was thinking about making a new dish with paneer, suddenly i thought of this. Luckily i had all the ingredients on hand, so i dont have to run for getting ingredients. I made this in few minutes and it was totally yummy.

This is just a combination of veggies with a base of tomatoes. There are three types of tomatoes added in this, sliced tomatoes, pureed tomatoes and tomato ketchup, all these make them lip smackingly good..The last touch of kasuri methi is must because it gives the lovely aroma to the dish..So don't miss it..

    Ingredients for Paneer jalfrezi

Baby Corn : Baby corn has a mild, mildly sweet, earthy, and vegetal flavour that is soft and luscious with a snap-like crunch.

Kasuri Methi leaves / Dried Fenugreek leaves : When compared to celery, dried fenugreek leaves have a slightly bitter and earthy flavour, with a sweet finish akin to maple syrup.

Garam Masala Powder: Warmth, sweetness, floral aromas, and a hint of spice from the black pepper are all added by garam masala. It's meant to be both a fragrant and savoury spice.

Lemon Juice : The unique sour taste of lemon juice makes it a significant ingredient in food and beverages.

This simple dish goes well with
    Naan
    Paratha
    Chapati & Rotis

I prepared the veggies in long strips so it looked even more beautiful..I hope you will try this out and let me know how it turns out for you.
