    I made this quick pepper gobi yesterday and served it with my egg fried rice. It was so delicious, you can have it like a appetizer, juts like gobi 65. But i loved the taste of this more than gobi 65. YUM YUM..

    The real taste of this dish comes from the pepper, so add a good amount of that and it will blow up your socks off. You could some capsicum if you want, but i want to keep it simple. So give this a try and you will love this for sure..

    Preparation Time : 10 mins
    Cooking Time : 30 mins
    Serves : 3 to 4

    Ingredients:
    Cauliflower - 1 medium size cut into small florets
    Salt - 1 tsp
    Turmeric Powder / Manjal Podi - ½ tsp
    Oil for deep frying

    For Batter :
    All Purpose Flour / Maida - ½ cup
    Cornflour / Cornstarch - ½ cup
    Salt to taste
    Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
    Baking Soda - ½ tsp
    Ice Cold Water as needed
    Dark Soy Sauce - 1 tsp

    For Sauce:
    Oil - 1 tsp
    Onion - 1 small finely chopped
    Garlic - 5 cloves finely chopped
    Green Chillies - 2 finely chopped
    Curry leaves a sprig
    Dark Soy Sauce - 1 tsp
    Salt to taste
    Sugar - ½ tsp
    Pepper Powder - 1 tsp

    Method:
    Take gobi in a sauce pan, cover it with water. Add salt and turmeric powder and cook for 8 to 10 mins till gobi is cooked. Drain and set aside.
    Mix all the ingredients for batter to a smooth paste. Chill it till use. Now dip the drained cooked gobi in this and coat it well, now fry this in hot oil till it is golden, drain in paper towel.
    Heat oil in a frying pan, add onions, garlic, chillies and curry leaves. Saute for a min.
    Add in salt and sugar. Mix well. Add in soy sauce and mix well.
    Add in fried gobi and toss well. Add in pepper powder and toss well.
    Serve with fried rice.

    Once they are crispy, drain in paper towel

    Chop onions, garlic, chillies and curry leaves

    add all veggies in

    saute for a min

    add salt and some sugar

    drizzle some soy sauce

    mix well

    add fried gobi

    toss well

      hi aarthi,
      i am a great fan of ur cooking... i have tried almost all ur dishes. but whenever i use maida to prepare a batter, it s not sticking to that vegetables and are coming out wen i fry them... can u pls help me in tat... is thr any tip???

      @AnonymousYou have to add cornflour as well. SO it will coat well. Also make the batter little thick.
