    Plain Chinese Gravy Recipe

    Plain Chinese Gravy with step by step pictures. Simple gravy made chinese style with onions, ginger, garlic and chinese sauces. This gravy can be used to make manchurian or as it is.

     

    Plain Chinese Gravy Recipe

    This is a quick and easy side dish you can make to have with fried rice or noodles. It is not only easy to make but very tasty as well. You can serve this as side for those or have it as dipping sauce as well.

    Ingredients for Plain Chinese Gravy

    • Oil - 2 tblspn
    • Ginger - 1 tblspn finely chopped
    • Garlic - 1 tblspn finely chopped
    • Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    • Green Chillies - 2 chopped finely
    • Tomato Ketchup - ¼ cup
    • Green Chilli Sauce - 2 tblspn
    • Red Chilli Sauce - 2 tblspn
    • Soy Sauce - 2 tsp
    • Vinegar - 1 tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Sugar - 1 tsp
    • Pepper Powder - 1 tsp
    • Red Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    • Chicken Stock or Veg Stock - 2 cups
    • Cornflour - 2 tsp
    • Spring Onion as needed finely chopped

    How to Make Chinese Gravy

    1. Heat oil in a kadai, add in ginger and garlic and saute for a min.
    2. Add in onions, green chillies, and cook till golden.
    3. Now add in all the sauces, salt, sugar and pepper powder and mix well.Add in chicken stock and mix well. Bring it to a boil.
    4. Now add in cornflour whcih is mixed with water and mix well. Cook this for 2 to 3 mins till it thickens.
    5. Add in spring onion and serve with fried rice or noodles.

    Plain Chinese Gravy Step by Step

     
    Take all your ingredients

     

    Heat oil in a kadai

     

    add in ginger and garlic

     

    fry for a min

     

    add in onions and green chillies

     

    saute well

     

    fry till golden

     

    add in ketchup

     

    soy sauce

     

    add in green chilli sauce

     

    add in red chilli sauce

     

    some vinegar

     

    Now the sauces are added in

     

    i added some red chilli powder

     

    Mix well

     

    Add in salt, sugar and pepper powder

     

    mix well

     

    Add in some chicken stock, i added water and chicken stock cubes

     

    mix well

     

    cook for few mins

     

    Now take little cornflour

     

    add little water and mix well

     

    add it in

     

    cook till thickens
