    This is One of the trending recipes made using potatoes. The potatoes is shaped into sticks and fried till crispy. This dish makes a perfect snack for kids.

    About Potato Sticks Recipe

    Super simple snack made with potatoes, oregano, red chilli flakes, cornflour and salt. The dough is shaped into rectangle or square and cut into strips. The strips are fried till crispy.

    The dough can be made in advance, flattened and cut into strips and be stored in fridge or freezer until ready to fry. A quick snack which is very different from regular French fries.

    • Potatoes
    • Cheese
    • Oregano
    • Red chilli flakes
    • Salt
    • Garlic. powder
    • Cornflour
    • Oil for deep frying

    How to Make Potato Sticks at Home

    Making Potato Dough

    Take boiled potatoes, cheese, oregano, red chilli flakes, salt and garlic powder. Mix well. Now add in cornflour and mix well. Shape it into a dough. 

    Shaping Potato Sticks Dough

    Take a parchment paper and place the dough in. Fold and Shape it into a square shape with the help of parchment paper. Roll it gently so it is flattened. Place the rolled potato in fridge or freezer for 20 to 30 mins. Use a knife to cut it into strips.

    Frying

    Now heat oil for deep frying. Drop the potato stick in hot oil and fry till golden brown.  Drain and serve.

    Ingredients

    • 2 large Potatoes boiled
    • 3 tbsp Cheese (mozzarella cheese) grated
    • 1 tsp Oregano
    • 1 tsp Red chilli flakes
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 tsp Garlic powder
    • ½ cup Cornflour / Cornstarch
    • Oil for deep frying

    Instructions

    • Take boiled potatoes, cheese, oregano, red chilli flakes, salt and garlic powder. Mix well. Now add in cornflour and mix well. Shape it into a dough.
    • Take a parchment paper and place the dough in. Fold and Shape it into a square shape with the help of parchment paper. Roll it gently so it is flattened.
    • Place the rolled potato in fridge or freezer for 20 to 30 mins. Use a knife to cut it into strips.

    • You can use leftover mashed potatoes in this recipe as well.
    • Any herbs or flavourings can be used as well. Indian spice powders can be used as well.
    • The rolled potatoes which is wrapped in parchment paper can be stored in fridge for upto a week.
    • Add more cornstarch into the potatoes if the mixture feels too sticky.
    • Adding cheese into the potatoes is optional. You can skip it too.

    Potato sticks is best served hot. You can serve this potato sticks with ketchup or mayonnaise.
