Things to remember before making this

)Cook rice and dal properly till it is almost mashed up, that helps in easy digestion in babies.

)Add garlic and asafoetida helps in digestion in babies.

)This khichdi is so filling and nutritious meal for your babies.

)You can start feeding this for babies above 6 months.

)Always feed this meal for lunch, not for dinner.

)The consistency of this is up to you. You can mash them with a potato masher, or put them in a blender and make into a fine puree. I make it into a fine puree.

)Adding ghee enhances the flavour and make it more nutritious for you baby and helps in weight gaining in babies.

)Make sure the ghee which you use is pure ones. I make my own ghee.

Too much mung dhal is mucous forming. It might cause congestion in kids. Give in moderation. Some days give red lentils(Masoor dhal) alternatively. Its not good to give mung dhal everyday to babies.
