Cinnamon Streusal Loaf Cake Recipe / Cinnamon Cake Recipe


I love cinnamon in cakes, i love the unique flavour and taste it gives to the cake. Plus when i bake anything with cinnamon it is makes the house smells divine. Love it to the core.

Streusal Cake are my favourite. It makes the cake taste delicious with the crunchy topping. This cake has a ton of cinnamon flavour and turns out really soft.


This cake was so buttery and fluffy perfect with a cup of chai.

Preparation Time : 15 mins
Baking Time : 40 to 45 mins
Makes : 10 slices

Ingredients:

For Batter:
All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1 cup / 120 grams
Baking Powder - 1.5 tsp
Cinnamon powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Soft Unsalted Butter - 1/4 cup / 60 grams
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Sugar - 1/2 cup / 100 grams
Egg - 1
Milk - 5 tblspn or as needed

For Streusal topping:
All Purpose Flour / Maida - 4 tblspn
Sugar - 3 tblspn
Cinnamon Powder - 1 tsp
Cold Unsalted Butter - 2 tblspn
Badam / Almonds - 1/4 cup chopped

Method:

Preheat the oven to 180 degree C. Prepare a loaf pan by buttering it on all sides and flouring it well. Set aside.

Now start by making the streusal topping. Take flour, sugar, cinnamon powder in a bowl. Add in cold butter cubes and use a fork to press it so it forms into crumbles. Add in badam and fork it through. Now set this in fridge till you make the batter.

Now make the batter. Take flour, baking powder, salt and cinnamon powder in a bowl and mix well

Take butter, sugar and vanilla in a bowl and beat till it gets creamy.

Now add in egg and beat well.

Add in half of the flour mix and mix well. Add in milk and fold well.

Add in the remaining flour and mix well. 

Pour this batter into the prepared pan. Top with the streusal topping. Bake it for 35 to 40 mins, insert a skewer to see whether the cake is done, if the skewer comes out clean then it is done.

Remove it and cool it completely. 

Invert to a cooling rack and slice and serve.

add a dash of vanilla


beat till creamy
once it has turned light and fluffy


add in 1 egg


beat well
add in half of the flour


and milk


now add in the remaining flour


fold well


pour it into a loaf pan


add in streusal topping


top the streusal over the cake


Bake it


remove it and slice and serve


So soft and so moist

Hello aarthi :-) im taking my kids to dhubai on this pongal vacation.thot of trying this n taking with me.i want some real foods with me.like rasam paste, breads,banana chips etc..u hav any idea wich type of snaks or foods wil thrive long?for vacations? Sory for the disturbamce but u r the one i cud turn to now with same taste n wavelenth dear :-)

  5. Hi Aarthi.. I baked it.. and it turned out wonderfully delicious... have my guests coming tomorrow.. can I refrigerate it and then microwave it tomorrow? if yes, for how many minutes? Please let me know.
