Easy Glazed Doughnuts Recipe - How to Make Doughnuts without Yeast - Yeast Free Cake Doughnuts Recipe

Its doughnuts time..It is my favourite and i can never stop making new donuts recipes whenever i get time. I have already shared quite a few recipe in my blog. This version is a yeast free version and also a instant version. It is made with baking powder and it has a cake like texture in the doughnuts so these are called as cake doughnuts. I loved it so much. Because the dough is made under 10 mins and these doughnuts from start to finish is made under 30 mins. So easy..

I would say that this is the best donuts i ever made. It was so fluffy and like eating a cloud that soft. You will never imagine that it has no yeast. It was so good..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 2 mins per batch
Makes : 12 to 15 mini doughnuts


All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 cups
Salt - 1/4 tsp
Baking Powder - 2 tsp
Powdered Sugar - 1/2 cup ( I used icing sugar)
Milk - 1/2 cup
Egg - 1
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp
Melted Butter - 1 tblspn 
Oil for Deep frying

For Vanilla Glaze:
Icing Sugar / Confectioners Sugar - 1 cup
Milk - 2 tblspn or as needed
Vanilla Essence - 1 tsp


Take flour, salt, baking powder in a bowl and mix well. Set aside.

Take egg, sugar, milk, melted butter, vanilla in a bowl and whisk using a fork.

Now add the flour in and mix well using the fork. Knead to a soft dough.

Take the dough onto a rolling board and roll it out. Cut doughnut shape using doughnut cutter or a cup and a small bottle cap. Take the scraps and roll it again and repeat the same, do this till the entire batch of dough is used up.

Heat oil for deep frying. Drop doughnuts in and fry till golden on both sides.

Remove it to a plate and set aside.

Make glaze by mixing all the ingredients to a little semi thick consistency. Dip doughnuts in and coat on both sides. Arrange it in a cooling rack so the glaze sets and harden.

Remove it and serve.

Take your very basic ingredients

Take flour in a bowl

add in baking powder

a tiny pinch of salt

mix that well and set aside

crack open a egg in a bowl

add in some powdered sugar..I used icing sugar

add in some melted butter..

add in vanilla essence

add in milk

whisk well

add in the flour mix in

use a fork to mix it up

it will start to come together

it will form a soft dough

take it in a rolling board

roll it 

i rolled it this thick

i used a glass to cut circles

then i used a small bottle lid to cut the inner

just like this

Then i kept on take the scraps together and rolling till i finish with the entire dough

drop the doughnuts in oil

fry them

it will get golden in the bottom

now flip over and cook

drain them

i fried the entire batch
now take ingredients for icing

Take icing sugar in a bowl

add milk a tblspn at a time

mix well..You can see it is pretty thick

so i added a little more

mix well

add little vanilla

mix well

this is the right consistency

take your doughnut

dip it in the glaze

remove it and arrange it in a rack

let it can top with some sprinkles too


Taste yum

Look how soft and porous it looks

  5. @mamtha pratapicing sugar is best, normal powdered sugar wont give a silky coating

  21. Hi Aarthi, in the pictorial description u showed 1 layer of dough that you rolled. But in the next pictorial it shows that two layers of dough are placed one above the other. So I am a little confused here. Please guide me through the steps. Thanks.

  24. Notes! I made regular sized donut, which this makes around 5 of. I also had to up yhe flour 3/4 of a cup
