Chewy Ginger Honey Cookies Recipe - Soft Ginger Cookies Recipe

With this my final baked post for this christmas comes to a end. I have made so much baked stuffs for this christmas. I counted it, i made around 40 new baked stuffs for this christmas..Check out this link for all christmas recipes

This cookies is a spiced cookie recipe, it has cinnamon, cloves and ginger added along with honey which makes this cookies really soft and chewy. Totally delicious with a cup of milk.

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Chilling Time :1 hour
Baking Time : 10 to 12 mins
Makes : 15 to 16 large cookies

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 2 cups / 240 grams
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda - 2 tsp
Salt - 1/2 tsp
Cinnamon Powder - 1 tsp
Dry Ginger Powder - 1/2 tsp
Cloves Powder (Krambu podi) - 1/2 tsp
Sugar - 1 cup Powdered / 200 grams
Soft Unsalted Butter - 3/4 cup / 170 grams
Honey - 1/4 cup
Egg - 1
Granulated Sugar for rolling the cookies


Preheat oven to 190 degree C. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and set aside.

Take flour, cinnamon, cloves, salt, baking powder and ginger in a bowl and mix well.

Take butter, sugar in a bowl and beat with a electric beater till creamy.

Add in 1 egg and whip again till creamy.

Add in flour mix in and mix well.

Cover with plastic wrap and chill it for 30 mins to 1 hour in fridge.

Use a icecream scoop to scoop the dough and shape it into smooth ball, roll it out and place it in granulated sugar and roll it well.

Place it in a plate and flatten it lightly.

Now pop this in fridge and chill for another 15 mins.

Now arrange this in baking sheet and bake for 9 to 11 mins.

Now remove this from oven and cool it for 10 mins, now remove this to a cooling rack and cool completely.

Enjoy with a cup of milk.

Take all your ingredients

Take flour in a bowl

add in cinnamon, ginger powder and cloves

add in baking soda and salt

Mix well

Take butter in a bowl

add in powdered sugar..i powdered normal sugar in a blender

whip it till creamy

add in one egg

add in honey

pour it in

whip till creamy

give a good scrape using a spatula

now add in flour mix

mix well

cover with plastic wrap

chill it in fridge for 30 mins to 1 hour

remove it from fridge

use a icecream scoop to scoop out the dough

roll it into ball

dip it in sugar

roll it well and coat it

arrange it in a plate

flatten it lightly

put this in fridge and chill for 15 mins or so

arrange it in a baking tray

bake it in oven for 9 to 11 mins

this is how it looks

golden on both sides

cool them in cooling rack and enjoy 

enjoy with a cup of milk


  1. hai arthi,how is ur baby ?my kid likes ur cookies cakes.but i want to bake using wheat flour .shall i bake all ur cookies and cakes using wheat flour?.tell any tips for getting fluffy cake and soft biscuit using wheat flour?

  2. @sarayes u can bake it with wheat flour, but it will be little denser, still taste will be good
