This is the spicy sandwich which i made today and it turned out yum. It has a white sauce added to it to give a creamy texture to it and worked well. It tasted so delicious as well. I am planning to make a veg version of this as well. Will soon share it.

    About White Sauce Chicken Sandwich

Sandwich is my go to favorite breakfast or lunch option. I love a proper chicken sandwich and this one is my recent favorite. The sandwich has loads of chicken and vegetables added in it. It has no mayonnaise, instead uses a basic white sauce to create the creamy texture.

The vegetables added in this gives the proper crunchy texture. I used capsicum, cabbage and onions in this. You can add sweet corn, carrots, green beans or any veggies that you prefer. If you are a vegetarian, you can use mushrooms instead of chicken.

    White Sauce Chicken Sandwich Ingredients

Chicken - I used boneless chicken breast which I sliced thinly. You can use any boneless chicken of your choice.

Vegetables - I used a combination of onions, capsicum, cabbage in this. You can add sweet corn, carrots, green beans or any veggies that you prefer.

White sauce - the white sauce used in this recipe is thick so it glues the vegetables and chicken together. I used butter, plain flour and milk to make the basic sauce.

Bread - white bread, brown bread or multigrain bread can be used.

    White Sauce Chicken Sandwich Preparation

Saute chicken & veggies - Heat oil in a pan, add chicken and season with salt and pepper. Cook for couple of mins. Add in oregano, veggies and season with some salt and pepper. Cook for 4 to 5 mins. Set this aside in a bowl.

Make white sauce - Heat some butter in the same pan, add flour and roast for a min, add in milk and cook till it thickens, add salt , sugar and pepper to taste. Now add veggies in and mix well. Filling is ready.

Make Sandwich - Take bread and fill with this, cover with another bread and toast till golden on both sides. Slice and serve. Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you.
