Bread, Sugar, Ghee and Milk sweet Recipe is a simple sweet recipe made with bread. It taste just 10 minutes to make and when you serve with a scoop of ice cream it is just perfect.

    Bread, Sugar & Ghee

The ingredients for this is pretty simple, just ghee, bread, milk and sugar. These four ingredients when combined makes the most amazing recipe. I used ghee, you can easily use butter.

You can also use any bread of your choice and one more thing is you can substitute brown sugar with honey. I can assure, this makes the perfect snack for your kids.

About Bread Sugar Ghee Milk Sweet Recipe

This recipe is my take on the viral milk toast. But this recipe is one of my childhood nostalgic recipe. Amma used to make this often, but she never uses milk. This and milk toast is what Amma makes for us as after school snack.

You just cook bread in ghee till golden on both sides, sprinkle with sugar and milk until the bread is coated with it. The bread drinks the milk and stays both crispy and soft at the same time. When served with a scoop of vanilla ice cream it is just irresistable.

    Ingredients

    • Bread slices - You can use both white bread or brown bread. Once toasted in ghee you will be unable to find the difference.
    • Ghee - be generous with the ghee, you can use butter too.
    • Milk - a small amount of milk helps the bread get soft.
    • Sugar - I used brown sugar to add caramel like taste. You can use white sugar or honey too.

    Step by Step Pictures

1)Take your bread slices and cut it into cubes.

2)Heat ghee in a pan. I am using buffalo ghee hence it is looking white. You can use butter instead of ghee.

3)Place bread slices on top of the ghee. The heat should be very low. Let it cook till golden brown.

4)Once the bread is golden brown, flip over and cook.

5)Let the heat be very low. Sprinkle brown sugar evenly on top.

6)Drizzle milk all over the bread.

7)The bread will absorb the milk faster. Cook until it caramelizes.

8)Flip over and toast on other side too. Thats it your bread sweet is ready.

9)Enjoy as it is or with vanilla ice cream.
