    Pressure Cooker Chicken Curry

I have been slightly sick for the past couple of days. So couldn't post yesterday. I am slowly recovering now, but the body pain kills me. Anyway i am feeling a little better now and started doing my regular household works.

    About this Recipe

Chicken curry, also known as curry chicken, is a dish from the Indian subcontinent. It is widespread in the Indian subcontinent, Southeast Asia, the United Kingdom, and the Caribbean. A typical Indian subcontinent curry consists of chicken stewed in an onion-and- tomato-based sauce flavoured with ginger, garlic, tomato puree,
chilli peppers, and a variety of spices, which may include turmeric, cumin, coriander, cinnamon, and cardamom. Outside of South Asia, chicken curry is frequently made with curry powder, a pre-made spice mixture.

Pressure cooking is the process of cooking food in a sealed vessel known as a pressure cooker using high pressure steam and water or a water-based cooking liquid. High pressure prevents boiling and produces higher cooking temperatures, which cook food much faster.

Now let me talk something about this recipe..This is one of very basic chicken curry you could make. It calls for very basic ingredients, so you can whip up this no time. The cool thing about this is it is cooked in a pressure cooker which cooks the chicken quickly and makes it so meltingly tender.

    Is pressure cooking chicken healthy?

Cooking in a instant pot or pressure cooker is an excellent method for preparing food on a variety of levels, including nutritional value. Instant pot recipes are completely healthy as long as the ingredients are healthy.

Ingredients For Chicken Curry Made In Pressure Cooker

    Ginger Garlic Paste :
Ginger garlic paste is a staple in many Indian dishes, ranging from curries to biryanis and everything in between. It adds delectable, savoury notes as well as a heavenly aroma that is unique to Indian cuisine.

    Turmeric Powder :
The turmeric root is quite bitter, but has an almost citrusy taste, compared to the powder. Turmeric also has something of a sweet taste, and it is quite earthy. When you use the powder, you're unlikely to notice the texture unless you use a substantial amount, but it is somewhat gritty

    Tomatoes:
Tomato flavour is frequently described as sweet, tart, tangy, or well- balanced. flavour is also known as classic tomato flavour or old-fashioned tomato flavour in some cases. Some tomatoes are described as having a mild or bland flavour.

      Hi Arthi,
Thanks for this easy recipe. Have tried your Mooli Paratha recipe and it turned out great, thanks for the tip on adding chat masala. For the chicken curry do we need to add water during the pressure cooking process ? How much would be required? Was wondering if it would stick to the cooker in case we dont add any water.
      Thanks,
      Sue

@SueThanks for trying sue, no you dont need to add water to the chicken. The chicken will leach a lot of its water.
