Garlic Chutney Recipe – Poondu Thogayal Recipe

Thogayal is such a versatile thing to make, thogayal is little thicker than chutney so it can be either mixed with rice or as a sidedish for porridges or whatever.

This is one simple thogayal with is made with garlic. The ingredients in this are roasted and ground. I served it with ulundu kanji and it was just perfect. I had some leftover which i had with dosa for dinner.

Preparation Time : 5 mins
Cooking Time : 10 mins
Serves : 4


Ingredients:

Fresh Coconut – 1 cup grated
Garlic Cloves – 5 to 6 peeled
Curry Leaves – 1 sprig
Dry Red Chillies – 5 to 6
Salt to taste
Tamarind – a small piece
Water as needed
Oil – 2 tsp

Method:

Take oil in a pan, add in garlic, curry leaves, chillies and saute till golden.

Now add in coconut, tamarind and saute till golden.

Take this in a blender, add in salt and water and make it into a fine puree.

Serve with kanji, porridge, idli or dosa..

Take all your ingredients
Heat little oil in a pan
add in garlic, curry leaves and dry red chillies
keep frying them
fry till they turn golden
add in grated coconut
saute them 
add in tamarind
mix well
fry them well
cook till golden
now take them in a blender
add little salt
add little water
puree till smooth
