    Pumpkin Poriyal Recipe | Poosanikai Poriyal Recipe with step by step pictures. Delicious pumpkin stir fry which taste delicious with rice.

     

    Pumpkin Poriyal Recipe

    This is a quick and easy poriyal which is made using pumpkin. It is fast to make and needs just a handful of ingredients. Taste great with rasam or sambar rice or anything. This dish can be done in under 20 mins or so. 

    Ingredients for Pumpkin Poriyal Recipe

    • Pumpkin - 4 cups peeled and cubed
    • Oil - 2 tblspn
    • Mustard Seeds / Kadaku - 1 tsp
    • Urad Dal / Ulundu Paruppu - 1 tsp
    • Curry leaves a handful 
    • Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi a pinch
    • Salt to taste
    • Red Chilli Powder to taste

    How to Make Pumpkin Poriyal Recipe

    1. Heat oil in a pan, add in mustard, urad dal, curry leaves and hing. Let this sizzle.
    2. Add in pumpkin, salt and toss well. Cover and simmer the pan. Cook till pumpkin is done.
    3. Now add in red chilli powder and mix well. Cook for few more mins.
    4. Serve.

    • 4 cups Pumpkin peeled and cubed
    • 2 tablespoon Oil
    • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
    • 1 teaspoon Urad Dal
    • 2 sprig Curry leaves
    • ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida
    • Salt to taste
    • 1 teaspoon Red Chilli Powder

    Instructions

    Pumpkin Poriyal Recipe Step by Step

     
    Remove the seeds from pumpkin

     

    Take pumpkin and peel it

     

    cube it

     

    Heat oil in a kadai..Add in mustard and urad dal

     

    add in curry leaves

     

    dash of asafoetida

     

    mix well

     

    Add in pumpkin 

     

    toss well

     

    cover it and cook till pumpkin is tender

     

    now it is cooked

     

    add in salt

     

    mix well

     

    add in red chilli powder

     

    mix well

     

    Done
