    Ridge Gourd Curry Recipe with step by step pictures . This Peerkangai Curry Recipe is made with Ridge Gourd and Coconut. Curry that taste delicious with rice.

    Ridge Gourd & Coconut Curry

    This is my 5th post using ridge gourd, even though we buy ridge gourd often, i have never shared any recipes so far..So no worries few days back i picked 5 ridge gourd from my grocery shop, and i am sharing lots of ridge gourd recipes here nowadays...This dish has become my favourite side dish..It takes just few mins to make..This taste great with rice or roti.

    Ingredients for Ridge Gourd & Coconut Curry

    • Ridge Gourd - 1 peeled and sliced lengthwise
    • Onion - 1 medium size sliced thinly
    • Green Chillies - 2 slit lengthwise
    • Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
    • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
    • Salt to taste
    • Coconut - ½ cup grated
    For Seasoning:
    • Oil - 1 tbsp
    • Mustard Seeds / Kaduku - 1 tsp
    • Urad dal / Uludu Paruppu - 1 tsp
    • Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam - ½ tsp
    • Curry leaves - 1 sprig

    How to make Ridge Gourd & Coconut Curry

    1. Heat oil in a pan, add in the seasoning ingredients and let it sizzle for a min.
    2. Add in onions, chillies, salt and turmeric and mix well.
    3. Now add in ridge gourd and toss well. Cover and simmer on a low heat for 10 mins till it is cooked.,
    4. Now add in chilli powder and mix well.
    5. Add in coconut and stir fry till it is combined.
    6. Now serve with rice.

    Ingredients
      

    • 1 Ridge Gourd peeled and sliced lengthwise
    • 1 medium Onion sliced thinly
    • 2 Green Chillies slit lengthwise
    • 1 teaspoon Chilli Powder
    • ½ teaspoon Turmeric Powder
    • Salt to taste
    • ½ cup Coconut grated
    • For Seasoning:
    • 1 tablespoon Oil
    • 1 teaspoon Mustard Seeds
    • 1 teaspoon Urad dal
    • ½ teaspoon Cumin Seeds
    • 1 sprig Curry leaves

    Instructions

    take your ridge gourd
    peel them, dont throw the peel, you can make chutney..
    check this link
    cut it like this
    slice them
     
     
    Done
    Take all your ingredients
    Heat oil in a pan
    add seasoning ingredients
    let them sizzle
    add in onions and green chillies
    add in salt and turmeric powder
    mix well
    add in ridge gourd
    mix well
    cover and simmer for few mins
    now the ridge gourd is cooked
    add in chilli powder
    mix well
    add coconut
    toss well
    now it is done
    Serve
