Refreshing watermelon soda recipe, which is a perfect thirst quencher on this hot summer days. This watermelon fizz can be made with or without alcohol. Learn how to make refreshing watermelon soda with step by step pictures.

    Watermelon Soda

Summer has arrived and watermelons are available in abundance here. I love watermelon a lot, sometimes I am totally amazed how a massive fruit contains 98% of water stored in its fruity flesh. And in addition to this, these fruits arrive just on summer time when we need to have lots of water. God has made each and every thing in this world for a reason. Right!!

Ok now coming to this drink. I actually have a Refreshing Watermelon Juice recipe in my blog, that is a  drink which we find here all over the roadside. I used to have that all day before. But after I came across this recipe it became my latest favorite. I skipped the alcohol part used in this recipe.

    About Watermelon Soda

Watermelon is a refreshing and low-calorie summer snack. It hydrates as well as contains essential nutrients such as vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants. Watermelons, like cantaloupe, honeydew, and cucumber, are members of the Cucurbitaceae family.

We consume lots of watermelon throughout summer. Mostly freshly sliced, but most of the time watermelon in made into refreshing beverages like this one. It is so simple to make, but the addition of soda takes this to a new level. This watermelon soda or fizz makes a great summer beverage.

    Watermelon Soda Ingredients

Watermelon - choose juicy, sweet watermelon for this recipe, it adds to the refreshing taste to the drink.

Soda Water - Carbonated water is water that has been infused under pressure with carbon dioxide gas. This results in a fizzy drink known as sparkling water, club soda, soda water, seltzer water, and fizzy water. This adds a fizz to this drink.

Sugar - you can use any sweetener of choice. Sugar, honey or agave is used.

Lemon Juice - add as much lemon juice as you need for this beverage.

How to Make Watermelon Soda (Stepwise Pictures)

1)Take fresh watermelon cubes in a blender. Make sure you remove all the seeds from the watermelon.

    2)Add lemon juice.

3)Add sugar. Instead of sugar you can use honey or maple syrup as well.

    4)Blend this till smooth.

5)Pour this into a jug. If you want, you can strain this through a sieve. But I didn't strain this. Place this in fridge so it gets nice and cold.

6)Just before serving. Add sparkling water or soda water into the juice and mix well.

7)Your watermelon soda is ready to enjoy.

8)This makes a great summer drink.

    Expert Tips

    • Make sure to remove seeds from watermelon before blending.
    • Straining watermelon juice makes the soda smooth, you can do this step.
    • Taste and adjust lemon juice and sugar. Instead of sugar you can use maple syrup or agave.
    • You can add soda water just before serving.
    • This soda taste best when served cold, so use ice cubes when serving.

    Serving & Storage

This soda taste best when served cold, so use ice cubes when serving. Blended watermelon juice can be stored in fridge until needed. Mix soda water just before serving.

What a beautiful colour this drink is! It reminds me of Summer, but alas here in England the weather has just got freezing, with maybe even snow on the way... 🙁 I will have to wait many months for a watermelon, but at least God has given us here potatoes and swedes to roast!
