Christmas Bon Bons / Rich Chocolate Balls – Christmas Recipes / Christmas Gift Ideas

Hai Friends..I am here with a awesome recipe which I waited so long to post..This is the first dish which I made when I thought of doing Christmas recipes..Hope you all are busy in packing and sending gifts to your friends, I would love if you include this in your gifts. Because it is such a awesome  dish and everyone will love it for sure..

This is one of Nigella lawson’s recipe and you all know that her recipe never fails..I found this in one of her cookbook “Nigella Christmas” , I made it as soon as I saw that. I took a few to my friends and everyone totally loved it and they asked for more. I am gonna make it again soon..

This bon bons tasted like rich rich chocolate truffles. It had a deep chocolate flavour from the cake as well as the dark chocolate. In her recipe she used christmas pudding, but I used chocolate cake and adjusted  few things as per my taste..I used the chocolate cake recipe from my blackforest cake..You could use any store bought chocolate cake or plum cake or make one at home..

I hope you love it and enjoy your holidays..Happy Christmas Guys..

Recipe Source: Nigella Lawson

Ingrediants:

Chocolate Cake  / Plum Cake / Christmas Pudding– ½ kg / 500 gms ( I used this cake recipe)
Dark Chocolate or Chips – 200 gms
Honey-50 ml
Icing Sugar / Confectioners Sugar- 3 tblspn

For Toppings:

Milk Chocolate – 100 gms
Glaced Cherries or Tutti Fruity ( Red and Green) as needed

Method:

Melt dark chocolate chips in a bowl over double boiler or in microwave until completely melted and set aside to cool a bit.

Now crumble your chocolate cake in a mixing bowl. Add icing sugar, honey and melted chocolate in that.

Mix well until everything is combined.

Now take a tablespoon of this mixture and roll into small balls. And arrange it in a foil lined tray. Set this in fridge for 30 mins.

Mean while melt your white chocolate in a double boiler or in microwave until completely melted and set aside to cool a bit.

Take a tiny spoonful of the melted chocolate and spoon it over the chilled bon bons and top it with tutti fruity or sliced cherries..

Put it back in the fridge for 1 hour before serving.

Pack it and give as gifts or enjoy all by yourself..
