Homemade Bounty Bars Recipe - How to Make Bounty Chocolates at Home - Mounds Recipe

Making chocolate at home can be really really fun and exciting. This is one recipe which i wanted to make for quite a long time. I know that this recipe will turn out perfect and tasty because i have already made a bounty balls recipe here. But i wanted to make a bar version of it. 

These bars turned out so cute. But the one mistake which i made in this is, i kind of over melted the chocolate and it got separated. So it got a bit oily. I didn't have any additional chocolate to make a new batch so i used that itself. But the final result was pretty good and no one found it bad. I was much relieved.

Preparation Time : 25 mins
Setting Time : 2 hours
Makes : 8 to 10 bars


Dessicated Coconut - 2.5 cups
Condensed Milk - 1 cup or as needed
Semi Sweet Chocolate Chips - 2 cups ( You can use milk or dark)
Unsalted Soft Butter - 4 tblspn


Butter a pan generously.

Take coconut, condensed milk in a bowl and mix well. Spoon the mix into the bowl and spread evenly.

Chill this for 2 hours in fridge.

Meanwhile melt chocolate and butter by double boiler method or in microwave. Mix well.

Unmould the bar and cut it into squares. Dip each bars in chocolate and arrange it in a parchment lined plate.

Chill for few mins.



Take all your ingredients

Spread butter in a small pan
take dessicated coconut in a bowl

pour in condensed milk

you need a good amount of that in

now mix well

mix really really well

now everything is well mixed

it should form a sticky dough

taste and check for sweetness too

spoon that in the pan
spread it evenly

pop this in fridge for couple of hours

Now take chocolate chips in a bowl

add butter to it

now place this over a saucepan with water and heat gently

as you heat the chocolate will melt

keep mixing

now the chocolate is mixed well

line a plate with parchment paper

unmould the coconut bar

cut as you like

i like this thickness

dip it in the chocolate

coat on all sides

place it in the parchment sheet

repeat with all the bars

chill for few mins


look how yummy it looks

taste more or less the same


  1. Can freshly grated coconut be used in d place of dessicated coconut as its not available in our town

  4. @chandu singhviu can use fresh coconut too. grind it in a blender till it gets fine gratings. Dont puree it. And fry it in a dry pan till the moisture evaporates. And fresh coconut wont stay that good for long, so store it in fridge and use in a couple of days
