Kovakkai Poriyal Recipe - Tindora Poriyal Recipe

Kovakkai - Tindora fry is one of my all time favourite sidedish. It is really tasty on it own or as a side for rice and any gravies.

Preparation Time: 10 mins
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves: 4


Tindora / Kovakkai - 500 grams cut into rounds
Salt to taste
Chilli Powder - 1 tsp
Turmeric Powder - 1 tsp
Oil - 3 to 4 tblspn
Mustard Seeds - 1 tsp
Curry leaves - 2 sprigs


Take tindora, salt, chilli powder, turmeric powder in a bowl and mix well. Leave to marinate for 30 mins. 

Heat oil in a pan, add mustard and curry leaves and let them sizzle.

Add in tindora and toss well.

Keep cooking on medium high heat till it gets golden brown. Keep mixing.

Serve with rice.

Cut tindora / kovakkai in to rounds and add some salt, turmeric and chilli powder in it and mix well.
 Leave this to marinate for 30 mins

add curry leaves

add the tindora

toss well

keep cooking till it gets nice colour

keep stiring it often

now it is almost done

cook on medium low heat till it gets crispy
