We buy a bunch of fruits every week, by the end of the week. I get to have some overly ripe of fruits lying in the fridge. Last week it was a papaya. We bought a beautiful papaya from the market and somehow totally forgot about it. It was in my fruit basket and when i got a peek into it, it was totally ripe. It was like so ripe, you cannot even peel them. First i thought of making this smoothie. But then i found that we are running out of jams. So decided to make some healthy homemade papaya jam that will last for a week for us..
|As you can see my papaya fruit is very very ripe,
somehow i managed to peel and chop it up..
It is too ripe that you can pick it and eat it..
But it is great for making smoothies or this jam..
|Take those overly ripe papaya in a blender|
|make it into a fine puree|
|Add it to a pan|
|Add sugar..this you can adjust as per your taste|
|mix them well|
|slowly the sugar will start to melt|
|it will thicken up faster|
|look how thick it has become..It took me under 10 mins or so|
|now turn off the heat and add a tsp of lemon juice..
You can add more tasting it
|give a good mix|
|serve with toasted bread|
