Figs are really good for you..I made this jam for amma..I decided to add little sugar to it. I thought of adding jaggery in this, but i ran out of it..So i added demerara sugar and it turned out yummy..Hope you will give this a try and let me know how it turns out for you..
Preparation Time : 10 mins
Cooking Time : 20 to 25 mins
Makes : around 300 grams
Figs - 20
Brown Sugar / Jaggery or Demerara Sugar - ½ cup
Put a plate in freezer.
Sterilize a glass jar, remove and set aside to drain.
Take ¾th of the figs in a blender and puree. Take that in a pan.
Add in remaining chopped figs along with sugar and mix well.
Cook this for 15 mins on medium heat till it gets thick and leaves the sides.
Spoon a little bit on the plate and it will get thick like a jam, this is when you know that the jam is done.
Cool it a bit and spoon it into the jar. Cover it and store in fridge.
|I always keep the jam jar and pickle jars at home, they are heat proof..Now to sterlize this, cover with water and boil it for 5 mins|

|You need some figs and sugar..I used demerara sugar..
You can use jaggery or normal sugar too
|Take ¾ th of the figs in a blender|
|pour it in a pan|
|add in ¼th of chopped figs|
|add in sugar|
|the sugar will melt down|
|now keep mixing it|
|it will get thick|
|the colour will darken too|
|now the jam is almost done|
|pour some jam over a frozen plate..|
|When you bring it together it will come like a jam|
|Now fill your jar|
|cover it and put it in fridge..this is smartness in a jar|
|Enjoy with toast..|
