Cooking Time : 1 to 2 mins
Serves: 15 appam
Sooji / Rava / Semolina – 1/2 cup
Water – 1/2 cup
Jaggery – 1/2 cup
All Purpose Flour / Maida – 1/4 cup
Wheat Flour / Atta – 1/4 cup
Coconut – 1/4 cup grated
Cardamom Powder – 1 tsp
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda – 1/4 tsp
Oil or Ghee for Deep frying
Take sooji in a bowl, add in 1/2 cup of water and soak it for 5 mins.
Now add in jaggery and mix well till it is all melted. Now add in all the ingredients except oil and mix well to a thick batter.
Heat oil for deep frying, drop spoonful of batter in oil and fry till golden brown.
Drain onto some paper towel.

|let it soak for 5 mins|
|now it has soaked well and thickened up|
|add in jaggery|
|mix well till jaggery is melted|
|add in flour / maida|
|add in wheat flour|
|add in coconut|
|add in cardamom powder|
|add in baking soda|
|mix well..the batter has to be thick|
|take spoonful of batter|
|pour it in hot oil|
|fry them on medium high heat|
|flip over and fry till golden|
|drain onto some paper towel|
