    Prawn Manchurian Recipe - Chilli Prawn Manchurian Dry Recipe

    Prawn manchurian is a recipe which was on my mind for quite some time. It is one dish which we order in any restaurants..It is totally delicious. I made it few days back and it was yummy..

    This dish goes well with any chinese main course like noodles, fried rice..You can even have it as a starter with soup..I made this as dry version, you can make it as gravy too, for that add some water after you add sauce and then boil it..Then add the cornflour slurry and thicken it a bit, then add fried prawns and finish it.

    Preparation Time : 10 mins
    Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
    Serves : 3 

    Ingredients:


    Prawns - 15 to 20 cleaned
    Oil - 1 tsp
    Garlic - 1 tblspn chopped finely
    Ginger - 1 tblspn chopped finely
    Green Chillies - 2 finely chopped
    Onion - 1 medium size chopped finely
    Capsicum / Bell Pepper - 1 chopped

    For Batter:
    All Purpose Flour / Maida - ¼ cup
    Corn Flour / Corn Starch - ¼ cup
    Baking Powder - ½ tsp
    Salt to taste
    Water - as needed
    Oil for Deep Frying

    For Sauce:
    Tomato Ketchup - 3 tblspn
    Soya Sauce - 2 tsp
    Vinegar - 1 tsp
    Green Chilli Sauce - 1 tblspn

    Method:

    Mix all the sauce ingredients and set aside.

    Take batter ingredients in a bowl, add water slowly and make it into a semi thick batter.

    Dip each prawn in batter and fry till golden. It should be crispy. Drain onto some paper towel and set aside.

    Now heat oil in a pan, add in garlic, ginger, chillies and onion and fry for a min.

    Add in peppers and saute for 3 mins or so.

    Add in sauce and cook till it is thick and glossy. Cook for few more mins till it is dried up..

    Add in fried prawns and toss well.

    Add in spring onions and toss well..Serve

    Now make the sauce..take ketchup in a bowl

    Add in vinegar

    add in soya sauce

    add some green chilli sauce..This is optional

    mix well and set aside

    Now heat some oil in a kadai..Add in ginger, garlic, chillies and onions

    add in some salt and sugar

    fry lightly
    Pin
    add in chopped capsicum

    toss well
    Pin
    pour in sauce

    mix well
    Pin
    I wanted to dry up the sauce..So heat it till the sauce is reduced

    now it is all dried up

    add in prawns

    toss well

    I had some leftover batter, i took a tblspn of batter, 
    added some water to it and made it thin..Then poured it in

    Give a good toss..Now add in spring onion..I didn't 
    have any on hand...

      Hi, what is green chilli sauce? Do u buy it ready made or blend green chilli with water to make the sauce?

      Hi Aarthi... Was supposed to mk ur prawn biryani recipe which i hv a tried a couple of times n the result is always excellent but i Tried this recipe today.. It turned out to be exactly as per wht u displayed.. Hubby was very pleased.. Thanks again
