Continental Baked Fish Recipe / Lemon & Garlic Baked Fish Recipe / Baked Snapper Recipe

One of my viewer asked me to post a whole baked fish recipe for quite a long time. I was waiting these long to get my hands on a beautiful fish to make this one. Luckily few days back hubby got couple of beautiful looking snapper fish and i decided to try out this recipe. I made one fish as a continental style and one as a typical indian style, which i will share soon..

I loved this fish more than the indian one..I had it all by itself. It was clean and very fresh tasting. I taste the real flaky juicy flesh of the fish and it was yum..

I hope you will love this as much as i did, and let me know how it turned out for you..

Preparation Time : 10 mins
Marinating Time : 15 mins
Baking Time : 35 mins
Serves : 3

Whole Snapper Fish / Vela Meen- 1 cleaned and deboned
Lemon Slices few for topping

For Marination:
Coriander Leaves - 1/2 cup
Mint Leaves - 1/2 cup
Green Chillies - 2
Garlic - 5 cloves peeled
Oregano - 1 tsp
Red Chilli Flakes - 1 tsp
Salt to taste
Olive Oil - 3 tblspn
Lemon Juice - 2 tblspn

Preheat the oven to 200 Degree C.

Clean fish really well. Debone them if you can. Make deep slits on both side of the fish.

Take all the ingredients given for marination in a blender and make it into a smooth puree.

Take fish in a baking tray.

Pour the marination over the fish and spread it all over the fish on both sides as well as in the cavity of the fish.

Leave this to marinate for 15 mins.

Now top the fish with some lemon slices and put it into the oven.

Now bake this for 30 to 35 mins.

Remove it and serve.

I used white snapper fish..I cleaned it and made some deep slits on both sides..

Now lets make the marinate..Take coriander leaves in a blender

some green chillies goes next

add some garlic cloves

i added some oregano too

for colour and a little spicy note, i added some red chilli flakes as well.

make it into a smooth puree

I took a baking dish

placed the fish over it

spooned over the marinate

I spooned some marinate into the cavity too

massage the fish well on both sides and leave it to sit for 10 mins

Once it is marinated

top it with some lemon slices

  1. This looks so yum... Very sure it tasted yummy too... Jus one doubt... How come you deboned it so perfectly...

  2. @SumiI didn't debone it. But you can debone so it will be easy when you are serving.

  3. for how long should we bake it

  4. Sounds like a flavorful and healthy way to prepare this fish. Catherine

  5. This is something that suits my no oil diet!!!! I just love u for posting this, aarthi...

  6. It was such a kick ass recipe. Mint lemon and fish combinations were fantastic. Especially once it's done you flake the fish and eat it with the sauce. Heavenly. N healthy. We loved it.
P.s- can you post more continental recipes like chicken parmigiana or roasted chicken with jus etc
