This is a gravy which i made using bottle gourd and this vegetable is particularly very good for you, it is good for weightloss and has many benefits in them..
Cooking Time : 25 to 30 mins
Serves : 4
Bottle Gourd / Surakkai – 3 cups chopped
Shallots / Sambar Onion – 10 peeled
Garlic – 6 cloves peeled
Oil – 1 tblspn
Puli Kuzhambu Podi – 2 tblspn ( Recipe here)
Tamarind Pulp – 3 to 4 tblspn
Water – 2 cups
Salt to taste
Sugar or Jaggery to taste
Mustard Seeds / Kaduku – 1 tsp
Cumin Seeds / Jeerakam – 1 tsp
Urad dal / Ulundu Paruppu – 1 tsp
Asafoetida / Hing / Kaya Podi – 1/4 tsp
Curry leaves a spring
Heat oil in a pan, add in seasoning ingredients and let them sizzle.
Add in shallots and garlic. Saute for a min.
Add in chopped lauki and saute for 5 mins.
Add in tamarind pulp and mix well. Add in the spice powder and mix well.
Add in water, salt, sugar and bring it to a boil. Simmer for 10 mins.
|Take lauki, cut it in half, scoop the flesh|

|saute for a min|
|add in lauki|
|saute for 5 mins|
|add in tamarind pulp|

|season with salt and a touch of sugar|
|mix well and cook for 10 mins|
