Dark Fantasy Cupcakes Recipe - Eggless Recipe

I love chocolate cupcakes, they are my favourite. I have so many versions of them in my blog and this moist and soft cupcakes are my latest addition. Not only they are easy to make, but taste just wonderful. 

The original recipe has everything in tblspn measurements, but i somehow managed to change it into cup measurements. I decorated it with some chocolate ganache which was leftover from my dark chocolate cake and topped it with sprinkles..Will soon share the rich dark chocolate cake which i made..

Baking Time : 18 to 20 mins
Makes : 6 cupcakes

All Purpose Flour / Maida - 1/2 cup
Whole Wheat Flour / Atta - 2 tblspn
Cocoa Powder - 1/3 cup
Sugar - 3/4 cup Powdered
Oil - 1/2 cup - 1 tblspn
Milk - 1/2 cup
Baking Soda / Cooking Soda - 1 tsp
Chocolate Ganache as needed (RECIPE HERE)
Chocolate Sprinkles as needed

(My 1 cup measures 240 ml)


Preheat oven to 180 degree C. Line 6 cup muffin pan with cupcake cases.

Take flour, wheat flour, cocoa, baking soda, powdered sugar in a bowl and mix well.

Add in oil and milk and mix till smooth.

Now use a icecream scoop to fill the cupcake cases till 3/4th full.

Now bake this for 18 to 20 mins till a toothpick inserted comes out clean..

Now remove this from oven and cool it completely.

Remove to a plate and spread chocolate ganache all over it and top with some chocolate sprinkles.


Take all your ingredients and preheat oven to 180 degree C

Line 6 cupcakes tin with cupcake cases

Take flour in a bowl

add in wheat flour

add in cocoa powder

add in baking soda

add in powdered sugar..This is normal sugar powdered in a blender

mix that really well

make a well in the center

add in oil

add in milk

mix well

use a icecream scoop to scoop the batter

fill cupcake cases

Fill it 3/4th 

Bake for 20 mins

Once it is cooled, remove to a plate

top with some sprinkles


These cupcakes are not only easy to make, but they are so soft..

These are moist, fluffy and soft..


  1. Your 1/3 measurement is in between 1/2 to 1/4 or is more than 1/2. Pl tell because that wing went wrong with pista chocolate fudge

  7. @Nalini Hadli1/3 cup if less than 1/2 cup. If you take 1 cup measure, you have to divide it into three parts and in that 1 part is that measure. Hope it clears now

  8. @AnonymousHai i dont eat much cakes and sweets except chocolates. So i giveaway most of them to my friends, family and neighbours. I keep some in my house.

  9. @Anonymousno oil is what gives the soft texture, so i strongly suggest you to use oil

  10. @NeshiniYou dont have to use egg in this..this is such a moist fluffy cake without egg and oil gives you the proper texture

  11. Hi Aarthi, this recipe is really very nice. First time when I make this it was really come out very nice. But this time i don't know what happened but my cakes r not coming out good. It start rising very nicely but aroud after 10 minutes it again going down and at 15 mins the uper portion is getting burnt n from inside its not done. I checked my temperature but its properly set. I tried three times but all the time it gets worst. Don't know what happened. Can u please help me? I was planning to send this for my daughter's school farewell but my all plans went flops. I m really very sad. Can u pl help me?

    I just tried these cupcakes, but unfortunately they din turn out well...
    Firstly my batter was more runny unlike yours...
    Then thy rose well, but at the end, the center sunk in and remained uncooked...
    I place the tray in the center rack and bake with lower heat...
    Where could i have gone wrong.. please help!

    I made this for my grand niece and she gobbled up 4 in a day. Taste also is very good and it's soft and moist. I find that the oil comes out after a few hours.. is that how it was? I didn't put the ganache as I wanted to avoid that .
